The Battlefield goalie had several saves in a row (at least 3) at one point. Major contributor. Well done

The battlefield goalie is a major stud

BF goalie was fabulous tonight.

BF goalie played great. Wouldn’t be surprised if a private school tried to snag her up.

Refs let them play at the end, and some fouls went uncalled, but it went both ways so the game was decided on the field.

Maybe Madison already exploited it last time, but YT defensive structure leaves them really susceptible to shooting space.

Yorktown plays man defense and I think there were only 2 shooting space calls tonight…both for Battlefield. None called against Battlefield I don’t think.

I’m a Yorktown fan, but I do agree the Battlefield goalie played great and had some amazing saves. Yes, there were three straight shots/put-backs in a row and she stopped all three. Pretty awesome. And she also made a incredible save out of position, from her knees. Well done, goalie.

Let’s go, Cosby!!!

Does Cosby have a reasonable chance in this one? Can they handle the Mad speed? Doubtful. But good luck.

So Battlefield didn’t quite reach the Buffalo Bills status. Since the brackets now has regions cross populated, instead of 4 straight championship game losses, it’s only 2 straight and then 2 semi-final losses.

I do believe that their young group will get over the hump at some point, if they stay together. Although to take the crown it looks like they’ll have to thru two region D teams. That’s a tough battle they’ll hope to figure out over the next couple years.

Cosby lost to Western Albemarle 10-11 earlier in the season and WA is a solid team this year. If they go into Madison’s game mentally and physically prepared to play high skill and fast pace level lacrosse they may be able to hang. Draws will be critical and holding longer offensive possessions to keep the game close. Madison plays overly aggressive so let’s see if Cosby can hang and showcase some good Richmond area lacrosse.

I believe she was announced as a sophomore, so the window may be the next 2 years before she leaves. They’ve had decent goalies in their previous runs, but having a clear top dog in goal could help get them over the hump finally.

Made props to BF playing such a close and competitive game. If they can keep this core together they should be able to make a run at a title the next 3 years. Some rumors a few of the girls are looking to make jump to privates so will be interesting to see what movement happens if any.

But…But…But….the Mag 7! 4 in a row! Pahleeze. Stop with the excuses. Win the State title or sit down and keep quiet.

Regardless of their path to states, you can’t possibly argue that they aren’t one of the top 4 teams. If you think your team is better you should have reached out and scheduled them.

BF is Top 10 not Top 4. Not by a long shot.

BF played a close game, but how about some made props to the Patriots for winning the game and playing on Saturday for an actual chance win their third title in 4 years. Or we can keep talking up what BF may do in the future instead of what's actually happening right now.

Now hold on a minute… Battlefield beat Concord’s top two teams Oakton & Madison in regular season, loss to Liberty District’s top two Yorktown & Langley by 2-3 goals in a very competitive game, and loss to Meridian by 1 goal. These are some of the top teams in the state they competed against. Whether people want to admit it or not Battlefield is considered a top contender regardless of rankings which in my opinion are meaningless. YT was ranked 3 in 2022 and some how managed to pull through and win states when Langley/ Madison were stacked with college commits as the top favorites to win it that year. Not a Battlefield fan but you can’t deny those players who worked their butts off this season. And let’s be real, ALL parents at top programs are annoying AF!!! It’s not just BF parents.
