I don’t know what this means. Please explain. |
Yeah, this isn’t swaying me. My vote for Larry Hogan isn’t what’s holding it up, it is the overall dysfunction in our political system. To be frank I think Congress needs an infusion of politicians like Larry Hogan to become somewhat functional again. |
Well, no, it's not, because you haven't voted for him yet, and he hasn't been elected yet. However, your vote for Larry Hogan, if he gets elected, will contribute to the overall dysfunction in our political system. |
Are people who can't remember 2016 already old enough to vote? |
“When I met with Justice Kavanaugh before his confirmation hearings, he looked me in the eye and said that he considered Roe v. Wade the law of the land,” she said. “Nothing in his confirmation hearings suggested that he would ever be less than trustworthy with a woman.” https://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/susan-collins-shocked-that-brett-kavanaugh-would-ever-lie-to-a-woman Hogan will likewise fall into line and vote to confirm any republican nominee |
Great that is your opinion! It is not realistic to assume Republicans will never win an election. Hogan is a sane human and one the republican party needs to get them away from the inbred MAGAs |
Can someone please lay out what exactly was positive about Hogan as a governor and how this is enough to carry him to the Senate? He screwed up enough in my view between the Purple line and the red line and nothing really notable during his term. The map is very bad for democrats and the current conservative Supreme Court is enough of a deterrent to electing Republicans who could hold up new Democratic nominees. It feels like there are just conservative shills all over this board. |
Larry Hogan will do as he is told by Trump and MAGA when his vote is needed. Why is that a good thing? |
Larry Hogan is a Republican who will vote with the Republican Party, and the Republican Party is the MAGA Party. The MAGAs have taken over the Republican Party. |
The Hogan supporters here are saying that they like Hogan because he’ll hem and haw a little bit before he votes to confirm Trump’s SC nominees. |
You know, a really good way to do this would be to run against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination. As a 2-term governor, he had the perfect amount of experience. Yet he ran away from the fight. Larry Hogan does not give a damn about making the Republican Party more moderate. He’s just an opportunist. |
OMG this. Susan Collins 2 Electric Bugaloo. |
No, we are saying that these hypothetical Trump SC nominees aren’t enough to convince us we have to vote for Alsobrooks (who I actually do think is great and would vote for if Hogan weren’t running) or Trone. The most likely next departures from the SC are Thomas and Alito, so Trump picking their successor isn’t really changing the makeup of the court. Larry Hogan is also an adult at a time where there are far too few adults in Congress who are pragmatic and want to get something done other than just screaming into the echo chamber. |
You loathe Trump, but you're going to vote for a person that will work to enable Trump in implementing his policies if Trump is elected? That makes a whole lot of sense. I swear to God I don't understand what is going on in people's heads. |
