What about to people like the German tourists who "drowned?"

Does anyone know if the German tourists were drinking and where were they drinking (hotel bar, elsewhere) before getting near the water on day they "drowned?" Are there media reports with videos from their time at this resort too?

For those who are claiming the husband forced the mom, he didn’t. He is using a Telugu term of endearment ‘Nana’ to console her

Oh. People are so quick to jump to conclusions about each and every detail. Leave that family alone.

Look at his hand. He clearly attempts to physically rotate her back to cameras. Or get your eyes checked.

Any news on the hearing in the DR today? I googled, and I've turned up nothing.

Don’t go in the water when red flags are up, day OR night. Duh.

Of course they are. And observing how they acted they may not be on same page re timing. Their request is not part of religion. Their request is so unusual there is no provision for it in US or DR law. If she was trafficked the parents in essence shutting down the investigation after only 11 days may compound the tragedy and could put others at risk.

The men in the bar sniffing drinks and engaging in other suspicious behavior, including being seen on cctv going to the beach as friends retutmed could be a risk to others. DR has strong economic incentive to sweep under rug. The counter to that would have been family and public pressure.

The family decided what they are going to do regarding their own daughter. That's their choice. It is not their responsibility to continue. But it certainly is yours if you believe that is the way forward because "could be a risk to others." Many will agree with you. Go ahead and continue.

One DR outlet had an article early today, said hearing was at 9am and there was a line to get in. Have not seen any updates since. Might check YT later, locals might be best source, Western media left last week.
