Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Reid’s we’re looking at everyone now is another way of calling the student to tell them we are going to be at your house today to do a residency check, hope to see you there. Having Blankenship be the parents lawyer now is a great way to witness prep the parents. That is one thing Cafferty and Reid would have learned so far- that the parents are the biggest liability in any investigation right now and they need to be majorly coached to stop saying “Of course we moved to Hatfield to play football!”

I cannot believe it is SOP for residency checks to involve pre-calling the parents to let them know you are stopping by. Like, that simply cannot be how it is supposed to be done.

An out of the way family trip for this? Oy.

Many FCPS HS athletes are very invested in this story and were shocked and disappointed hat the school system backed the cheaters. The kids put in a ton of time into their sports and respect the game and the rules.

We live in one of the most fascinating areas on earth with tourists eager to see all that the DMV offers. And you choose to road trip to…a high school football game in a far, uninteresting part of Fairfax Cnty at an unaffiliated school. Likely so that you can boo some kids you don’t know as a family. Stay home, have some cocoa with the kids, and watch a movie instead.

Do you know any high school boys? LOL.

Do you? Do you think your “son and his friends” just want to drive far away to an unaffiliated school to just cheer on Edison and not boo and provoke Hayfield? Do better.

What does that quote mean exactly? Were the coaches shared the FcPS internal report but just the page that said “all good”?

Personally, if it were my kids I think that would be a fine way for FCPS student athletes to express their disdain and disgust for FCPS's support of cheating.

I understand why the school board didn't want to go through district-wide redistricting and look for a new superintendent at the same time so they renewed her contract. But man, this is a a big deal and terrible timing for them. They may have to review the contract to see how to see her out, due to this.

They aren't going to get in trouble. Hayfield apparently can't be bothered to have their school Director of Security working during a playoff game.

Probably. How can they verify residency if no one answers the doorbell when they ring?

Um. Come back later? How can they verify residency if tip people off?

Not in this decade, but way upthread people had stories from the past.

Ok but we're talking about what's going on now about what happened years in the past.

Dang, what was redacted? Coaches, tell us more!

So #Hayfieldby40 is the school’s goal to recruit at least 40 kids in violation of VHSL rules? Bummer, by all articles they only got 30-some. Maybe next year!
