I hope Zelensky said to her... "I don't need her regards. Tell her to send lethal weapons."

Because it’s still fighter jets coming from NATO territory.

Sweden and Finland are not in NATO.

They’re PFP though.
Also what’s in it for them to trade strategic flexibility for exposing their people to nuclear annihilation?

Finland is on the border with Russia and fought their own “Winter War” with Russia, which Russia won and so was able to force Finland to be neutral and deferential to Russia for about 50 years. So, probs not a good move for Finland.

Sweden has been consistently tested by Russia in the last few years - border flight incursions (one just this past week by Russian fighter jets), secret sub invading their waters, etc. Even if Sweden would do it, they’re not in NATO and so we’ve made it pretty clear that we won’t defend non-NATO members, so they’d be hosed if Russia retaliated, which they could easily do.

Russia's Winter War with Finland was brutal for Russia and the Finns killed around 150,000 Russian troops, destroyed thousands of tanks and hundreds of aircraft. The Russians still have nightmare tales of that war. The Russians' equivalent to "the trees speak Vietnamese" is "the snow speaks Finnish"

True the Finn's I know are absolutely crazy, in a good way. You know when people just have that glint in their eye from long cold winters? Like Alaskans, just a little special I wouldn't want to fight them.

Yes. As Robert Gates famously said, "Biden has been wrong on nearly every foreign policy issue and national security issue over the past four decades." Unfortunately, he is the commander in chief at a time we need someone who gets foreign policy correct.

Throughout his career, Mr. Biden has consistently opposed modernization of our strategic nuclear forces. He was a fierce opponent of Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative. Mr. Biden voted against funding SDI, saying, "The president's continued adherence to [SDI] constitutes one of the most reckless and irresponsible acts in the history of modern statecraft." Mr. Biden has remained a consistent critic of missile defense and even opposed the U.S. dropping out of the Antiballistic Missile Treaty after the collapse of the Soviet Union (which was the co-signatory to the ABM Treaty) and the end of the Cold War.

It does appear as if Putin is setting the stage to use chemical weapons. He may feel that there is no other alternative.

Living in DC, SDI would sure be comforting around now. Do people realize how much we disemboweled the all of it - both agressive AND defensive?

He is already committing international war crimes. Russian troops have repeatedly been caught on video blatantly attacking civilian vehicles, civilian buildings, they have been caught looting civilian businesses, they have used banned cluster bombs, and now there is evidence that they are firebombing residential areas with incendiary dumb bombs from SU-34s - while their media lies to their people, saying these are "precision surgical strikes" solely at "military targets"

Putin and his military commanders need to be prosecuted before an international war crimes tribunal. The Russian people need to see how he is lying and committing brutal violence - especially given that the cities he's hitting are majority ethnic Russian. It's nothing but greedy criminal fratricide. Anyone defending Putin is defending what is the biggest "empire of lies" on the planet right now.
