It is unbelievable in a bad way to me that the stimulus package is playing politics with DC -based Americans... it is bad enough that DC Americans do not have full democratic representation but to cynically classify DC as a territory rather than as a state in order to punish them for voting democratic and therefore cut funding by more than half is outrageous. DC is the nation’s capitol. Please place health and life above partisan politics.

Nearly 37 million Americans live with a chronic lung disease like asthma and COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

this number does not include lung cancer which is gigantic..

posted too fast..
so here is more..
However, this number may be much higher because more than 18 million adults have evidence of impaired lung function, and may have undiagnosed COPD.

so PP... roll those two numbers and add all the respiratory in one and what do we have..

37 plus 18.. that is your lung sufferers right there.

add this to heart issues of 120.. and we got what?.. 120 plus 55.. 175 right there..
shell we continue I think not..

If that many people were at high risk we would have a lot more dead people right now. Most recover.

No, because many people who got the virus weeks ago are just now starting to have symptoms or have severe enough symptoms To be hospitalized or to die.

A young child has apparently died from the virus in Illinois.

We are making the same mistakes Italy made....how does our response to this just keep getting worse rather than better?!

The decision not to close the Florida beaches over spring break will do to that state *and* the Midwest what the decision not to close the bars in NYC on 3/14 did to it.

Dollars over lives. Our greed will literally kill us.

Folks still don’t understand this. It doubles every three days. It takes at least five days for symptoms to appear. At any given time roughly 75% of infected people caught the disease in the last six days and most of those don’t have symptoms yet. Most of those that die won’t pass away for another 2-3 weeks. Honestly I’m getting tired of explaining this. People here just don’t understand it.

It’s not working.

All the “social distancing”.

All the restaurants and businesses closed.

All the sporting events canceled.

All the schools closed.

All of the upheaval.

And it’s still getting worse.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel.

And it sucks.

It is working. But it will take longer than a couple weeks.

It's working in California. It will work here and all around the country. But it will take more time.

Define what it means to “work”. This isn’t supposed to cure it, just slow it down. If the hospitals aren’t overrun in Maryland then it’s “working”.

It will kill one million people in this country before it’s over.

I'm pretty sure my whole family got it back in January, especially with learning about the "new" symptoms of GI issues, red eyes, lack of taste and smell. When we were sick we were tested for the flu and strep, negative. Is it possible to test to see if we already got it and donate plasma?

Just stay home. Don’t be cavorting around to hospitals and drs trying to get tested. Don’t be all in the stores bc you think you got it. Just sit at home and watch Netflix. Please.

It will kill fewer people if we don’t overwhelm our hospitals.
