Lost wages? Isn’t Jonathan Ross on a taxpayer-funded vacation right now?

Has he even been placed on leave, much less without pay?

He is on paid leave, and has been whisked away with his family.

Paid vacation, you mean.

1) No body cam (can you imagine real cops taking out their cell phones to film an encounter, breaking all manner of policies regarding privacy)?

2) Jumping out of a generic silver pickup truck with nothing identifying it as a law enforcement vehicle.

3) Officers not identifying themselves and immediately running up and escalating the situation by screaming swear words and pulling on the door handle (no cop in a million years would do this; you keep your distance, make verbal contact first, deescalate, ensure the scene is secure—hands on steering wheel etc—then approach the suspect).

4) Accosting a citizen when there’s no report of her in distress or engaged in illegal activity. In other words, she’s not a suspect. If she’s impeding traffic or a law enforcement activity, you tell her to move along. If she refuses to comply, there are procedures for detaining her in a safe, secure manner.

5) Firing at a moving vehicle, including through the driver’s side window, endangering other people’s lives who might be standing on the other side of the vehicle (bullets go through a car door like tin foil)

6) There’s more, but the point is this ICE officer failed at every level. At worst, Renee Good was protesting ICE and being a bit obnoxious about it. She clearly was not trying to harm anyone. She might’ve panicked with all these gunmen screaming at her, She might’ve just said “F it” and tried to drive off. Whatever the case, this is 100% on this ICE officer and the practices (they’re not really even policies) of the ICE terror regime.

Thank you for your perspective. Why don't any of the defenders ever address the posts from LEOs or others who work in law enforcement?

I notice this too.
Every time an obviously very experienced LEO explains the myriad ways in which these ICE officers exceeded their authority, the MAGA cult completely ignores it and continues with its ignorance and lies.

I'm a LEO. My goal is to go home safely after work. At the Academy we were taught that in case of doubt, it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. People who deliberately place themselves in positions where they can reasonably be perceived as threats have only themselves to blame for the consequences if the LEO they choose to confront sees their behavior as threatening enough to justify the use of deadly force. Playing chicken with a LEO on the assumption that your behavior won't be perceived that way is demonstrably reckless, foolish, and stupid.

Wow. Pretty sure the lesson they were trying to impart here were: defuse a situation rather than escalate. Don't stop a a car like a bunch of goons and antagonize people when you can easily drive around them. And don't unnecessarily step in front of a vehicle ever for any reason.

But you heard:

Shoot a smiling lady three times and take your chances with a jury.

Yep. There is no support for ICE. Even my conservative friends are upset and pissed off. ICE will be defunded and its responsibilities will be moved to other governments agencies.

Well. . . there's multiple videos of ICE agents getting stuck in snow and not knowing how to get unstuck (civilians are not coming out to help like they would do with anybody else) and falling on ice. People in Mpls are also hoping for some seasonal weather to replace the extremely mild temps they've had.

Dropping F-bombs isn't enough! Democrats have real power they are not using.

It's our job to be outraged, it's elected officials' jobs to pass legislation. He has done NOTHING to protect immigrants and now Americans in this instance.

We need to hold our elected officials to a higher standard. I posted above what he could be doing. Instead, he's arresting peaceful protesters. I say this as a life long Democrat who wants the party to be successful. But they continue to fall down when faced with the authoritarian threat.

It's an old trope he's quoting, and historically it's worked in their favor, but less so as time goes by and much less so when it comes to civil proceedings. There's all the part about enforcing the law, not your pissed-off resentment.

No. Schumer and Jeffries have already said ICE will not be defunded. They have appropriated $120 Billion towards ICE and the hiring of 10,000 new agents with $50,000 bonuses each, not to mention the establishment of new detention facilities that will hold an additional 100,000 detainees. The Democratic leadership is not touching that. Schumer and Jeffries are very clear about this. And that is who Democrats have chosen to be their leaders in the House and Senate. So nothing happening there.

State and local gov.t have tremendous power to curb ICE. The fact that they have not done so is enraging. We must all insist our local law enforcement have non-cooperation agreements with ICE unless it is a criminal arrest.
Also, state and local governments can and should:
Track ICE apprehensions/ account for all victims
Run support hotline for impacted families
Provide legal aid to immigrants
Track ICE locations & share Info with immigrants at risk
Maintain list of ICE license plates.

What do you mean by immigrants at risk?

Immigrants who are not criminals. Over staying a visa is a civil offense. And then there are the violence against immigrant greencard holders and US citizens.

To be clear, you are a sworn employee of a major metropolitan police department and you actually posted the text below?

Different poster here, and different sworn law enforcement officer who has posted several pages back.

Your snide tone and forthcoming criticism are so much S H I T, which you are full of. Undoubtedly another micropeen rageful misogynist bootlicker MAGA pretending to know anything of any value about law enforcement training, procedures, best practices and the laws governing use of force. You are full of it, and everyone can see that whether a decades long veteran LEO or a lay person.

S T F U already.

So you believe the 5 points posted are from someone that’s gone through an academy?

What an absolute clown. He didn't like being challenged on his threat, had no answer to it, and resorted to violence.

Has this agent been identified?

Apparently Noem doxxed him as 43-year-old Jonathan Ross, an ICE agent with a long history on the job. Apparently he also fears for his life a lot, because after a different poorly run traffic stop thing six months ago, and then after shooting this woman in the face and calling her a "f**king b***h" in the audio of the video he uploaded/leaked, he's now in hiding.

Oh, no. I was wondering about the one who asked, “Have you all not learned…?” Has he been identified?

Is he going to be charged or not?

She and her wife were taunting ICE and provoking them for several minutes before the incident. It was in no way unreasonable for the officer to believe that she was going to run into him.

Verdict: not guilty of anything.
