Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread

+1 3 accusers. Only 1 allowed to testify. A sex crimes prosecutor questioning the victim rather than Senators. This is a dumpster fire.

Fully agree with you. It's madness.

I called my son and warned him to be careful spending time with women who could turn out to be unstable.
I cannot imagine having a false allegation thrown at him.

One of the small ‘s’ sad things that happens every time there is a public accusation of sexual assault is that we have to listen to women who have so fully internalized the misogyny they were taught at the knee that their instinct is to blame the women. It’s just sad.

Yeah. Or you could just tell your son to be polite, respectful, always ask for consent, and never approach a woman who is intoxicated except to help.

Sure. And then that intoxicated woman will claim he raped her the next day because he helped her back to her dorm room or gave her a ride home. There is no winning.

Serious question - Why don't parents advice their daughters to not drink? For one, it's the law - no drinking under 21 (just in case someone didn't know that) and a drunk woman attracts pervs and monsters. Is it because, parents drink at home a lot and kids try to emulate them later in life? We are non-drinkers so trying to understand..

Because teenagers like to experiment and push boundaries, boys and girls. Being illegal under a certain age doesn't stop most from pushing that boundary. And drinking is fun.

What you should ask is why don't parents advise their CHILDREN not to drink?

I grew up overseas where drinking is legal at 16. At no time did my parents warn me or my brother about drinking. It was not really discussed, except for the idea that there always has to be a designated driver who isn't drinking. We were not able to drive until much older than 16 though. I do not drink as an adult, but my brother does.

She also had her polygraph done in MD on Aug. 7. Wondering if she flew or drive. I know she was vacationing on the east coast during this time, according to the letter she gave to Feinstein.

Finally, someone is asking the important questions.

Once a person is caught telling one lie, it throws their entire testimony into question. Why did she say she was afraid to fly? Just an excuse to not have tot testify under oath?

Exactly. Yet she easily flew out here for the pussy march.

She never said she was afraid to fly. People surmised it because she delined to come to DC on Monday.

Yes, she did.

"The GOP has been told that Ford does not want to fly from her California home to Washington, according to the Republican senator, which means she may need to drive across the country. Ford has reportedly told friends she is uncomfortable in confined spaces, indicating a physical difficulty in making the trip by plane."

Huh. How did she travel back and forth to Hawaii? New Zealand? It's almost as if she... flew!

I don't know why some are making this into a big deal. Plenty of people are claustrophobic, including two of my cousins. They are otherwise completely sane and intelligent individuals.

But you didn't answer the question. How is Ford able to fly to other places, but not to D.C.?

That's the best you got?

So, no answer. That's what I thought. Thanks for playing!

I knew so many Kavanaughs in prep school and college.

Ever-present chip on shoulder.
Unfriendly to most guys except own bro' bunch.
Mean toward most girls, except when drunk and then became touchey-feeley, hopey-gropey, hokey-pokey, drapey-rapey.
Super friendly to girls of high status with rich parents and country club peerage.

Moms and dads -- look in the mirror -- in your quest for that Lax scholarship and Ivy League admit, are you raising the next Brett Kavanaugh??????

This is how it starts. What about a real one? "He would never" "Not MY baby!" is what everyone, ESPECIALLY moms seem to think. But that's actually not true. You don't always know. Which is why you raise boys to not assault and be good people who would not have scores of women accusing them of misconduct. It's not hard. Instead, you basically just told your son that he can do no wrong, you'll always believe him, and women are crazy. So go act with impunity, right?

I wonder what Kavanaugh's mom thinks. I think she knows that he drank a lot. I mean, you'd have to be pretty out of it and absent not to know if your kid partied that much.

Are you kidding....? BK"s parents were the biggest lushes.....

I really think Republicans are idiots for not convincing someone to pull this or straight up taking a vote to fail out and move on. They don't have too much time left before Jan 3. If they'd cut ties last week they'd already have a new nom and they'd have ACB or Hardiman well on their way to confirmation.

Instead they will crash and burn on this over the next week only to have trump stew and wallow before making another selection... who knows it could be mid October before they even have a new nominee! Senators will have to be in DC voting on a SCJ instead of campaigning against the betos of the country giving up key time.

It just seems incredibly stupid and shortsighted for people given the gift of an unexpected second court nominee.
