I don’t understand this obsession of some parents with mandatory vaccination. Do you want teachers fired if they refuse the vaccination? Then we will end up with classes with no teachers. Maybe a sub if they can find one. Is that what you want? |
Yes, I'd prefer larger classes to anti-vax teachers. |
Hooo boy. Why do parents care about the vaccination status of people who will be indoors with their unvaccinated children for hours each day, when we've got the highly transmissible delta variant in play? Where to begin.... |
Are you good with being the cause that a child dies? |
Yes, yes I do. |
Another yes vote. Fire them. |
If they don't care enough about my kids to vaccinate themselves, I don't want them anywhere near the classroom. |
do you actually not understand? |
NP but it won’t lead to larger classes it will lead to a substitute teacher. If there are subs who are vaccinated . . . |
fine with me |
DP it will definitely lead to students in classrooms on tech doing some sort of “lesson” through canvas while being watched by whatever 21+ year old person the school can find. I am a teacher who 100% supports the mandate, but also thinks it’s fair to be transparent on what will happen personnel -wise |
Can’t be worse than last year. |
I appreciate you saying this. I would hope that teachers who refuse to be vaccinated under a mandate see that they wouldn’t have much support. The narrative last year was that teachers needed the vaccine in order to teach in person. They early access to the vaccine, before other people who had been actually already working in person. It seems sort of the height of hypocrisy for teachers to now say they shouldn’t have to get the vax. |
+1 They fought for it and now they can get it or go. |
It can definitely be worse than last year. Good luck being stuck with a virtual long term sub if they can even find anyone |
