Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
The kids see that too. I think we should start with the parents (look at all of the racism deniers on here), but kids should certainly learn about racism and biases too. They will handle it better than the parents because they aren’t fraught with white fragility yet. |

All the casual references to white supremacists and white fragility (and lumping in many Asians as "white-adjacent" and calling their kids "toxic") is what is going to get Republicans elected in upcoming state/local elections. Good job, folks. - Long-time Democrat fed up with the race/class obsessions taking over the party |
Many places, including schools, want to implement anti-racism training to raise awareness of biases and systemic racism. How is this an issue? Who exactly is “obsessed” with this? Seems like the GOP is trying to whip this up into an “issue”. If you want to vote GOP that’s fine. Grow TF up and own it though. |
DP. Because of the way they're doing it. Only wish the current GOP candidates in Virginia weren't idiots. Oh well. |
How is FCPS doing it? What does the training look like? |
You know what all this talk about "systemic racism" or systemic this or that reminds me of? Andy Samberg's Digital Short: "I aint gonna be part of this system!" |
Only white people are allowed to be successful in a white supremacist, systemically racist country. If too many Asians are successful, then they are white or white-adjacent. Duh. |
What do consider successful? Being allowed to be white daddy’s assistant? |
What exactly do you want? It has been acknowledged, and then some. If you actually expect people to constantly apologize for past injustices, you are sadly misguided. Moderate, normal people are sick to death of people like you hammering away at the same narrative. Most people are moving on - with or without you. |
Good grief. No wonder people are ignoring you. |
DP. I’m happy to “own it.” I’ll absolutely be voting Republican in the VA governor’s race this fall, and I can’t wait to do so. Especially a Republican who clearly and plainly states that CRT has no place in our schools. |
You aren't racist at all, are you? How about they know the difference between working hard and hardly working.. Looks like your kind hasn't figured that out yet

I think what I said WAS relevant to your point, just that you don't get it. If you want sympathy, you should not act like an aggressor when that opportunity presents itself. If you expect sustained public outcry and chagrin at Becky calling the cops on a Black man, you should also be stepping in to raise that same message when an Asian is attacked by a Black. And yes, I do know that Whites attack Asians as well but that's not the point here. If you want people of color to stand together, we need to treat each other as one. If not.. good luck. Please post videos of Asians "assaulting" Black people. That would be a novelty. As far as hiring goes, that's purely economics. Asian stores don't hire Whites either. Nor do they hire anyone American-born. They typically hire their own people first (e.g. Koreans hire Koreans and not Chinese). The first few hires are immediate or extended family, followed by children of friends or friends of current employees. All based on trust. Once they expand and can't sustain this model, they typically hire south American immigrants mainly due to their work ethic. Pay as little as you can for max. work. If they go all out "equal opportunity/AFL-CIO" they will have to shut down within a few weeks. This is no different from White farmers bringing in cheap Mexican labor, just that they were able to bribe enough people in Congress to be able to do that legally. Why not ask them to hire Black men? |
Me? I'm not hammering away at anything. I do think it's OK to acknowledge system racism and white privilege though. The sooner we do, the sooner can move on. |
