I don’t need to do that. My public school pay and benefits are no different whether I’m remote or in person. Luckily, my employer dictates the conditions of my job during the pandemic, and not fully remote employees in another career sector entirely. |

It’s not just teachers:
“Whatever companies decide, experts say, they should recognize that Covid-19 vaccines may not eliminate employees' anxiety. A survey released last month by the American Psychological Association found that 49 percent of adults feel uneasy about returning to in-person interactions once the pandemic is over. Vaccination status did not affect that: 48 percent of those who have already been vaccinated say they, too, feel uncomfortable with in-person interactions.” https://apple.news/Aao6-cfRVSmO4vn5WBUvIIQ |
School has NOT been a huge part of the fabric of society for thousands of years. Even in Mesopotamia, ancient China, and other civilizations, education in any form was for elites and a formal school building where children spent most of their day was for the percentage of elites who would become priests or scribes. You have to be within a few hundred years ago to find anything resembling public school being offered to lower middle class kids. The antebellum southern US didn’t have public schools for the most part. |
LOL. Clearly you don't know what it means. Buy a mirror. |

LOL! No, sweetie, you didn't "do" any such thing, but enjoy your delusions of grandeur. And you have the power to demand to fire noooooooobody. Grow up. |
That's a nice opinion you've got there. Our (large local)district's lead teachers have already received information to prepare for virtual academy DL offerings in the fall. As you snottty 12-year-old girl in person moms love to lamely chirp, "sort not sorry."

Nobody cares what you're "over.". You have no power and no say. STFU yourself. |
Boom. Owned. |
Shhhh, don't confuse them with facts. They just want to be pseudo-self-righteous and throw temper tantrums about teachers holding them "hostage." |
+1 I love it that some people haven't even read the documents. But you're right it gives the hysterical screamers the pacifier they want. Good luck with that is all I can say! Some of these parents are completely off the walls, and I say that as a parent. Teachers, keep right on doing what you're doing. Let all this other crap roll off your back. The parents who are good parents recognize and appreciate your hard work. |

Ah, so you *don't* know what it means. Unsurprising. |
| And just a reminder of the danger that Covid-19 poses for teachers, today one of the Brooklyn PS is commemorating the first anniversary of the teacher who died in their school from Covid-19. She contracted the virus on March 17 and passed on April 5. NYCPS had several teacher deaths last year, this was the first. |
