Someone please tell me why teachers can’t go back to school ASAP.
Many other professions have gone back to work UNVACCINATED and no one cared about us (construction). |

Most Employees Don't Want To Return To The Office Until Everyone's Vaccinated
People working from home want all their colleagues to get a COVID-19 vaccine before they return to the office. By Monica Torres 03/11/2021 05:45am EST | Updated March 11, 2021 MARTIN-DM VIA GETTY IMAGES Most employees currently working from home believe a COVID-19 vaccine should be required before people return to their offices, according to a new survey from Glassdoor. In the survey of 2,072 U.S. adults conducted last month, 70% of those working from home said that they and their colleagues should be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine before they return to work. A significant number of respondents were willing to stake their jobs on it: 23% said they would consider quitting if they are required to return to an office before all employees have been vaccinated. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/covid-19-vaccine-return-to-work-office_l_60479501c5b653040034e0c3 |
| We are back at school. Keep up. |
I believe the question pertains to those who are not, as the subject says, back in person. |
| Because it is way easier and more relaxing to work from home..saves time and money and there’s no financial or professional penalty. So they are riding the gravy train as long as they can. |
| Construction is different as you are in a persons home or building and separated. Much easier to keep safe than with 30+ students to a room. You sound entitled. Hire a nanny. |
Don't you work mostly outside? If you want a cushy teaching job, there will be thousands of openings in this area soon. Get your resume ready. |

The teachers union is only whining about “safety” in order to maximize the raise they will get post-Covid:

| They're enjoying working without dealing with the worst part of the job: classroom management. |
Do you live in LA? I can't imagine there are many people on this board in LA. |
+1 Who isn't back in person? |
Many kids in DCPS school and almost all kids in DC charters. |

Because construction is usually more distant, more outdoors, and as you can imagine, it's a much harsher profession where workers can easily get fired for requesting the most basic protections. I'm a parent, not a teacher, but I don't fault teachers for wanting more security in a roomful of little Covid spreaders... |
| The only people unwilling to go back to work have protected jobs (teachers, state and federal workers). The poor lowly grocery store worker has zero options. |
Yup. And the issue is not that tge teacher have workplace advocates but that others dont |
