You're not talking about Blair, are you? The only thing that matters is which colleges the kids go to after HS. Blair doesn't have any advantages in that regard.

Yes, it does. Blair sends more students to the ivies than any school in the county. Scratch that... More than any school in the great state of Maryland.

There’s also a lot of legacy status with folks in Takoma Park, so it’s not just the school.

LOL
And compare that to the legacy status of folks from Potomac and Bethesda, legacy status in Takoma Park is not even a blip on the radar.

And yet it isn't...

What isn't???

Most familes with true legacy status and money would no more live in Takoma park than Anacostia. A few first generation non-profit types maybe

There's a huge gap between "legacy" and "money". Colleges don't much care about the former these days.

According to Bethesda Magazine college-bound? Didn't seem so. In fact, Blair was somewhat.. underwhelming..

The impressive part is that according to Bethesda Magazine Blair had 2 Harvard, 4 Yale, 3 U Penn, 4 Brown, 10 Cornell, 1 Princeton, 2 Dartmouth, 4 Columbia acceptances.

Not sure if anyone knows how many actually attended the Ivy's (ex. could have just been 10 students that applied to all the same schools) unless the poster actually works for MCPS at Blair or the Sup level?

However any school with a Dropout Rate of 8.8% and Graduation Rate only of 86.1% isn't really something to brag about, I would think?

And yet it greatly outperformed any other school in the county by a wide margin.

It's the most diverse school in the state and the largest HS in the county. There are all kinds of kids there from the highest performers in the state to below average, and despite this it has more impressive college admissions than any other school in moco.

You really have to look at the number who applied with the number accepted. I think Blair gets the edge on great college admissions because they’re way ahead in MIT and CalTech. For the rest of the super competitive schools, they don’t seem very far ahead overall on a percentage basis.

Just because you can make up some wacky excuse to jutify your bias doens't make it so. Let's stick with facts and the facts are Blair has more admits to prestigious schools. Sorry if that makes you unhappy.

And
More NMSFs
More Intel/regeneron scholars.
More sciences olympiads
More Math olympiads
More state sciences bowls etc....
Their schools cannot post a CV like this, hence the Blair envy.
It's real
