PP again: to be clear, this my thought. It isn’t part of this news report:
It could really slow the spread if parishioners who shook his hand, took communion, or otherwise came in contact with him stayed home/self quarantined as much as possible over the next two weeks. It’s the responsible thing to do. |
Lack of tests is a huge problem and why people need to self-quarantine for two weeks to see if they develop symptoms. |
The high school |
If they tested negative why are they closing the school? |
No, they wouldn't test positive until they're symptomatic. The two week self-quarantine is important. |

Because they were exposed and could test positive tomorrow. |
Until you're symptomatic, there's no point in testing anyway. Be patient. |
Self-quarantine is the responsible thing to do. However, self-quarantine is supposed to be 14 days from the date of exposure, which would have been 7 days ago already for anyone in the congregation. |
One person's experience trying to get tested in DC

Sidwell Friends School just sent the following alert to all parents:
”Today, the District of Columbia Department of Health issued precautionary measures to the community of Christ Church in Georgetown, where a member has contracted the virus. In addition, Maryland and Virginia have identified several cases. If you or anyone in your household is a member of an affected community, believes that you have interacted with members of an affected community, or have otherwise potentially been exposed to COVID-19 under any circumstances, do not send your child to school. Please follow the self-isolation guidelines we have posted at ...We will collaborate with families to ensure that learning continues throughout self-isolation periods and other absences related to the virus...” |
It’s becoming clear that the DC govt isn’t equipped to handle an outbreak. I’m starting to become very worried about the vulnerable populations in DC. The mayor is very much in denial and her denial game is only going to work for a short while. I thought DC had progressed in recent years, but it clearly hasn’t. |
She doesn't have coronavirus, she has flu B. |

Not true. Plenty of asymptomatic positives, in countries that test. |
