Family Beach House- DS and Friends Using it for Summer.

If any of this is real I think the military likely scenario is that the previously friend shows up in secret, kicks the new kid a few hundred and crashes there for the summer too. Boys left to their own devices won't give an eff about mama drama

Highly unlikely. One of the kids would post something on FB or Insta. Their secret wouldn't last a week.

My daughter is paying $1000 a month this summer to share a bedroom in a 3 bedroom cottage with one bath.

It’s clear non of you have college students. Looked at a freshman dorm lately? Some of the rooms are so small you can reach both walls with your arms spread. And of course the bathroom is shared and down the hall.

+1 I looked at housing in Manhattan for the summer $1700/mon for double room in a dorm.

OP here.

So many angry people. Maybe you wouldn't be so angry if you had a beach house?

Anyway, update.

First kids mom has come grovelling back asking over the course of three emails if her kid could please join the beach house. She apologized profusely and claimed she'd been emotional when she sent the email. Answer was "Too bad, so sad"

Three other boys have since come forward asking if they could rent the other bunks in the bunk house and they got into a bidding war- offering $2000 each. DH and BILs said no because of the septic system. I thought they were foolish because for 7k you could almost replace the system which is nearing its end of life anyway.

So- here's the takeaway if you're a mom. Keep your gossipy mouth shut and play nice. Because it will cost your kid socially big time.

Maybe you woudn't be if you owned one? Because you don't--it belongs to others, remember?

Also, you're quite loose with the truth and have been called out numerous times. Give it up, we can all tell.

I absolutely believe it. Growing up my best friend's parents had a house on St. Simons. During college and law school her parents let her use it for the summer. Competition was FIERCE to get a spot. You have any idea who you rub elbows with in the summer down there? Judges, Senators, Congressmen, etc. These are people that can set you up for life.

Hi OP!

The vast majority of them have not only no water, but no electricity as well.

And this weekend, in the dead of winter, there are zero vacancies. Not a single cabin is available.

They are routinely booked fully two months out.

So I ask you- if a cabin with no heat and no water and no electricity is fully booked on a 22F degree weekend, why in God's name would an air conditioned, lighted bunk house at the beach (and adjacent to a bathroom and kitchen) go unfilled?

It's frankly, laughable. I bet there are literally dozens of kids who would jump at the chance to stay there.

Wow, you're dim.

Nobody hiking the AT is doing it while working--and after having been invited to stay there by their friend.

I think ANY invite to a group owned house at the beach comes with some discussion. A college kid doesn’t have the full right to ask another person to join until it’s cleared with the owners. So it was more of a suggestion/ discussion.
My DCs get a lot of travel invites and it’s NEVER final until all the planning financials air tickets dates rooms etc etc are finalized. This is not a sleepover at home for the weekend.
It’s clear in this case that the final approval had to go through the moms. And it didn’t pass. One mom wanted free stay for the summer in the main house. Other mom didn’t have that to offer.
Other mom offered the spare bunk room (which is not a shed or an outhouse) and that didn’t work for the other mom. Deal fell apart.

Just let the first boy crash for free in the shed. He just wants to hang out with his friends and be part of the fun plan. Don't punish him just because of his mom's behavior.

LOL. Ok. Your right kids totally have no idea how to run around their parents. A truism if ever I heard one.

+1000

Most of these dumb cvnts have never even seen a college campus. Their kids sure as sh*t aren't going to university or else they'd realize this situation is commonplace.

This whole thread is a revelation about class and station in life of the posters on this site. None of the contrarians have ever traveled

You have the worldly and educated andthen you have the trailer spawn.

Well, you never learned the difference between your and you're so I'd bet your kids could trick you easily.
