They should be honest. We shouldn't have to watch hours of work sessions to learn the plans.
If they think it's so important they should tell the public instead of pretending it was a standard policy review. |
Same here. Done. |
Will be our pleasure to cancel your vote, knowing very well that no lifelong Democrat would vote for the regressive, elitist ticket endorsed by the “Langley First” crowd. |
True. Can't believe they don't wish to continue the School Board's focus on social issues rather than academic ones. It's a lot easier to discuss bathrooms, menstrual equity, and renaming schools than it is to discuss achievement gaps and academic programs. Achievement gaps are not solved by redistricting based on SES. They are only hidden. Academic programs are the answer to solving the gaps. That is the job of the schools. Economic gaps are not resolved by a school system. The only thing schools can do to address that is food and support for educational tools that kids cannot afford. The best thing that the schools can do to address economic gaps is better instruction for all students. |

Do you get paid to push conspiracy theories about the SB on DCUM it is it just a hobby?
DCUM, do your own research. LWV has candidate panels. There are also posted questionnaires and responses. Please don’t fall for the same conspiracy/fear-mongering that is propelling our national politics. Voters have a responsibility to educate themselves. |
No. I think that is your hobby. |

It is not an either/or exercise. There is an enormous amount of focus on academics and addressing the achievement gap, which includes meeting the needs of students where they are, in every sense of the phrase. It’s disappointing, but not surprising, that most of the Republicans seeking election this fall would claim that recent efforts by the School Board to avoid further concentrating poverty at certain schools are intended to hide problems or that they are not being considered with the goal of improving academic achievement in mind.
But I guess they want to make some people feel better about being segregationists at heart. |
Wow, thanks for proving my vote about uneducated voters. |
Good to know. Could you share the work sessions where specific details are discussed? I've watched quite a few of them, as well as the School Board meetings. I've heard little about this at all--other than this is a problem. I've heard no real solutions. I'd like to know the motions that indicate they are addressing it. |
I’m not going to compile an exhaustive list for you, but the periodic updates on Project Momentum and the budget discussions around staffing levels and resources are examples. |
Just as I thought. |
Don’t flatter yourself. |
They messed up bigtime |
|
No one messed up more than One Great Falls. Awful people living up to everyone's worse stereotypes about Langley a-holes.
|
One Great Falls is not elected. The School Board is elected to make good decisions. They have not done so. signed, Sully resident |
