In these times, sadly, people only believe what furthers their political beliefs.

+1. Truth has become politicized. Our country is so f'ed.

P.S. I'm not saying that either Kavanaugh or his accuser are "truth", just that facts don't seem to matter.

Well, I'm amazed that some people think every single woman's version is correct, and the man's is incorrect.

I’m amazed that all of you deniers have never had friends and family who have told you about their garden variety rapes and sexual assaults. I can think of five rapes among my friends and family right now without even really thinking about it. Not a one of them told the police, and usually not even their family for a long, long time afterward.

And if so, how tf does that matter in this situation?

Motivation. She’s a Democrat very much against the Trump administration.
As Schumer has said.... “whatever it takes.”

I'm a Democrat. I hate the Trump administration. I hardly think that's enough motivation for me to destroy my life!!

I am not that partisan!!

es, I have. And because of that, I believe her. I also believe the 65 women who signed the letter stating they think he is a saint. Both things can be true and she is likely telling the truth. This kind of stuff routinely happened to me and my friends. We didn’t talk about it until recently with the metoo stuff. He needs to step down. We cannot have another assaulter on the Supreme Ct. Not in 2018.

Please quit the drama. Thomas was not accused of assault. He was accused of harrassment and even that was open to interpretation. And, the playbook was precisely the one the Dems are using now. Wait until the hearings are over and then bring out the charges.

This smells. Thomas called it a modern day lynching. The same thing is possible here.

The woman isn't sure when it happened--even which year it was.
She didn't tell anyone--and young girls talk.
Memories change, and sometimes exaggerate. She was in couples therapy with her husband and dredged this up.

Shades of Rolling Stone.

Ooooooh! That RS reference is good! Build on that!!

The mentally I’m CA professor obviously concocted this story after George Soros offered to pay her for it!! She’s just in it for the money!

Slut, mentally ill, liar!!

Keep it up!!

I realize that you think you're being clever, but you just seem unhinged.

She is being clever. And she’s doing a good job mocking and predicting the losers who are following the script exactly.

Can't wait to read his diary.

Yep, the fact that Judge admits/brags about his high school behavior WITH Kavanaugh is pretty telling.

Kavanaugh was also part of the T&C Society at Yale.

Ugh, so gross.

What's the T&C Society?

No one is.

But in attacking the victim, the GOPers are able to distance themselves from the fact that they know in their hearts: Kavanaugh is a bad man and they are bad people for supporting him.

Please.

Last week I could have told you it will be a Democrat from CA, that probably teaches at a liberal college. I wonder how I would have guessed that?

I don't remember the date or year I was assaulted. I was quite young. But I remember the man, his name is engraved on my memory forever. I remember the details of the assault. How I got home? I can't remember. Why does this matter?

So, show us the thread where you posted that. Please.

Ask the Duke lacrosse team.

Or the UVA fraternity members.

The "well she has nothing to gain so obvously she's being truthful" trope needs to end NOW. What did Jackie from UVA have to gain from concoting the RS story? Nothing. Some people are just mentally ill.

Disagree. Vote Kavanaugh in tomorrow. This alleged event occurred over thirty years when Justice Kavanaugh was a teenager. It’s not remotely relevant today. Not. Remotely.
Impressive Dem Hail Mary though.

I said upthread that doing this as a teenager is bad enough. Lying about it now is worse.

It may not have occurred. Hard to lie about something that didn’t happen.

Accuser passed a polygraph. An FBI polygraph.

A private polygraph she claims to have passed.

Nice try Boris.

Not sure why but I continue to be amazed by the lack of reading comprehension by so many of the previous posters.
Here is the exact quote from the Post article:

“Ford took a polygraph test administered by a former FBI agent in early August. The results, which Katz provided to The Post, concluded that Ford was being truthful when she said a statement summarizing her allegations was accurate.”

This means something very different from the oft repeated and FALSE claim that “she passed an FBI polygraph.” No she did not. There are a lot of facts in dispute surrounding this story. However, this is not one of them.
