How will Wootton or RM be affected by new high school in Crown Farm?

Duffel possibly

The boundaries in that part of the county make no sense. They should consider split articulation to reduce the unnecessary busing going on presently.

How many kids can new Crown HS take? I have many asian friends with kids attending stonefield ES now, and they will be really pissed if they will zone to new Crown HS. To them, wotton HS is the main reason that they bought the home at the firat place.

Wootton is at 1883/2120 utilization.

Let's say hypothetically you take Stone Mill and Washingtonian area out of Wootton. Now Wootton is around 1300/2120 utilization. I don't think you're going to be able to backfill and wind up with lower transportation costs and shortened bus rides.

Putting Ritchie Park back at Wootton would fill some of those spots and add a bunch of walkers - lower transportation cost and shorter bus rides.

It was a good effort.

It would also provide some relief to RM's overcrowding.

Or they can just move Horizon Hill out of Ritchie Park and into Cold Spring. Also walkable.

This will account for the new students coming in to Ritchie Park from new condos/townhouses/houses Park Potomac and Tower Oaks.

When the rest of King Farm moves to Gaithersburg with the other half, those families are going to riot.

If it reduces busing the unnecessary busing then that's tough. Many of the boundaries there are very wacky and make no sense.

If that's true, sounds like a no brainer. Wootton's boundaries make no sense now. Most of its students live closer to another HS anyway.

No one is taking StoneMill out of Wootton it's too large. Learn math people.

Richie Park makes sense absolutely.

Gathersburg HS will be changed place. They will move in some higher income neighborhoods and movesome lower income areas to Crown.

+1 A lot of the surrounding HS will look different, some more than others.

You never know. They may bus in other ES from Gaithersburg or Rockville to Wootton. It all depends on the next BOE and superintendent.

There is no such thing. I hope you didn’t buy based upon that.
