I hope CNN are not getting ahead of themselves.

Reuters and NBC have confirmed CNN's reporting.

And the WSJ.

The FBI paid for Steele’s travel expenses. Let that sink in

Your reply is totally not relevant to what you're responding to, and you're in the wrong thread. But if McCain gave the dossier to the FBI, and the FBI found it worth following up on, I don't see a problem with that. The FBI and DOJ had worked extensively with Steele on the FIFA case, and trusted him and his work.

Add Clinton’s and the Podesta, the DNC and Obama and it stinks.

You guys need to cut out the Trump can fire anyone stuff. He cannot. There is legislation in place. Mueller can only be fired in writing and for cause. I’m a GS-14 civil service lawyer, and he can’t fire me. Merit Service Protections and all.

Uhhh, not how it works at this level.

Which level?

At Meuller’s level there is an actual law. Only Rosenstein can fire him. Trump cannot.

In the civil service there are different laws— the merit systems protections.

But it all boils down to the same thing. Trumpkins like to talks about how Trump is the CEO of the executive branch and can fire at will. And every fed knows that is BS. He can fire his political appointees, who make up less than 1% of the executive branch. But he can’t fire anyone else. Not Mueller. Because the law https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/28/600.7. And not the thousands of GS lawyers who hate him. Because a different law. Trump has very little ability to fire anyone. Like the impotent asshat he is.

Why am I not surprised that CNN has close ties with Fusion GPS:

CNN’s reporting on the Trump-Russia dossier has left out at least one crucial fact: the close ties between the network and the opposition research firm at the center of the dossier controversy.

CNN’s reporting on the dossier, led by justice correspondent Evan Perez, has been favorable to the firm, Fusion GPS, and hyped the dossier’s credibility. Left out of Perez’s reporting, which has relied largely on unnamed sources, is his personal closeness to Fusion GPS’ operatives. Fusion has repeatedly been described in Senate testimonies as a smear-for-hire operation that manufactures misleading or false media narratives for its clients.

Glenn Simpson, the Fusion co-founder most often associated with the dossier, is used to working on stories with Perez. As reporters at The Wall Street Journal, Perez and Simpson regularly co-authored stories on national security.

Did you write this yourself?

You are implying that Perez and Simpson's history as WSJ journalists together is a black mark. Seems like an indication that they're reputable to me.

Wait, so I just learned that the co-Founder of Fusion GPS used to work for Rupert Murdoch at the Wall Street Journal.

Podesta Group. Yikes.

Rumor is Manafort worked for Podesta Group. He has no relationship with Trump prior to the campaign.

No one thought he had a relationship with Trump prior to the campaign. Everyone thinks he had a relationship with Russian oligarchs prior to the campaign.

Twitter owner hates Trump. So there.

If this were actually true, Twitter would've suspended Trump's account many, many times for violating twitter's terms of service.
