Please keep this quote in mind when responding to this thread. It is not a "judge me" thread or an "argue with me" thread, or -- God forbid -- a "call me 'thick'" thread. If you have nothing to ask, then you have nothing to post and should probably find a thread of more interest to you.

Thank you, Jeff!

And thank you, OP.

Believe it or not, nothing sordid to share. What I have to report is about as sordid as a Las Vegas showgirl or a cocktail waitress would have to say. Sorry to disappoint.

Are lap dances the "money maker" or simply the dancing part? Did you learn how to do your body and face makeup on the job? Are there people there that help you with it?

How much is the cost of the job outside of the club fees? Wigs, make-up, shoes, outfits, that sort of thing.

I don't do lap dances - they are prohibited at my club (by law, even though other clubs in the area allow them). Private dances I do, and they generate a lot more money than the dances on the main floor. No contest.

I learned how to do body and face make-up over time. I always knew how to apply makeup, but this is like getting ready for a stage show - because that's what it is. It's much heavier, like what you would see on an actor about to perform for stage/screen. We all do our own makeup, but I've learned a lot from women who've been doing this longer than I have.

It's pretty expensive to maintain. I spend at least 500 a month on wigs, shoes, outfits, etc - you always have to look "fresh" you know, and while I certainly use the same outfits repeatedly, I do mix it up. I have to buy higher quality makeup than I did when I worked in an office, and I go through it much more quickly. I maintain memberships at both a gym and a yoga studio, as maintaining my physique is a huge part of what I do. I also spend more on nutrition now than I used to (I used to eat like sh*t, seriously), as I pay very close attention to what I eat.

Do you actually strip, as in, going out on stage in clothes and then take them off? Or do you come out and solely dance? For some reason when I think of a stripper, I'm picturing old timey gypsy rose type stuff. From what you're describing, I'm picturing what I guess folks refer to as "exotic dancing." Sorry if this sounds like an ignorant question!

She goes to the club strips, doesn't allow touching, no client relationshipa and then goes straight home. Forgive me for thinking a a stripper ama would be sordid

To the Pp, mentioning Starbucks or Walmart, they don't pay 500 - 1000 dollars a day, so working there, doesn't pay the bills, as easily. Love you, too, Op

I wear usually a two piece outfit ("outfit") and a top layer - a small dress, or a shirt and skirt. It is exotic dancing, a performance. I work in a topless bar, so don't get completely naked (I would never do this - there's nothing wrong with it, I'm just not comfortable enough to take it ALL off). It's erotic, it's sensual, it's sexy - that's what I get paid to do.

I hope I answered your question.

Do you live in MD, DC, or VA? Just curious, not stalking. i seriously doubt any of my neighbors have a cool secret life but who knows what lurks beneath the surface (of Bethesda).

OP, what do you think of women who object to their husbands going to strip clubs?

How do you process, in a healthy way, men sitting there for hours staring at your body parts like you're subhuman? Do you have a mental game/trick that gives you a feeling of empowerment over this? Does it feel familiar, as a sexual abuse survivor? No judgment in this question, more purely psychological curiosity.
