My goodness. Makes you wonder why the moms (or teen girls) here are so blind to accepting any responsibility in this mess.

Again, posts with a tone of hostility toward women.

Because you teach your daughter that she bears zero responsibility for her own actions? Including posting naked selfies? This is not the same as dressy slutty. You get that, right?

Would you be hostile towards somebody showing your daughter porn?

Are people teaching their sons that they bear no responsibility for their actions? Are boys so weak that they cannot help creating a website when they see a picture of a girl, clothed or unclothed?

'Cause that would be outrageous (and totally different from the girls posting their naked bodies).

This one?

Oh no brown people eating lunch with kids! At least they are all wearing clothes when their pictures are on the internet.

Well, there's that, although the evidence would suggest those teens found ways to gratify themselves that went beyond Snapchat.

They could be adopted At least they are still in school and not facing criminal charges (as far as I know from that picture), so that is a positive for me!

This didn't take long to find.

OMG are you really comparing drinking at school two years ago, to porn? Plus, the teens had graduated and went back to the school to party, which pretty much sounds on par with typical teenage antics.

The Wakefield students often drop out and then get in trouble:

"The Virginia Department of Education's data show that Arlington County's dropout rate for students with limited English proficiency is significantly higher than the statewide average, with 37 percent of these members of Arlington's class of 2008 dropping out of school before graduation. At Wakefield High School, 42 percent of the students with limited English proficiency dropped out of school before graduating. Half of all Hispanic students in the class of 2008 dropped out of school."

Thanks for quoting statistics from 6 years ago.

Again, I am not saying that Wakefield is the best school ever. I just think it is important to realize that the schools that get touted on here as the "ideal" are not free from horrible teen behavior either.

The graduation rate for wakefield in 2013-2014 was 87 for 1 year and 82 for 2. not saying that mclean isn't higher, but jsut it is not as horrible as you think. At least use current statistics!

There are a lot of straw men getting beaten up around here.

Saying that girls who took naked pics of themselves and sent them to others are culpable DOES NOT mean that the boys who collected the pics and posted them are blameless.

Saying (with a wink, I might add) that you are glad your kid goes to a school like Wakefield DOES NOT mean that you think nothing bad ever happens at Wakefield.

However, jumping on that Wakefield statement, in a thread about a teen porn website involving McLean students, and posting stats about high school graduation rates at Wakefield DOES mean that you are (a) lacking a sense of humor and (b) an idiot.

I'm glad we cleared that up. From now on, I'll know that the high dropout rate, teen pregnancies and low test scores at Wakefield are your run-of-the-mill sitcom material.

Please explain to me the relevance of this, other than as a means to make a backhanded, not so subtle comment about race and ethnicity. We know that the white kids are so much better than their black and brown brethren.

It's a childcare center for teen mothers at Wakefield, courtesy of APS.

If the Wakefield poster wants to joke about sexting at McLean, it's fair to note what happens when some Arlington students decide to express their own sexuality. The latter probably ends up costing taxpayers a lot more.

Please take your concerns about the high dropout rate, teen pregnancies, and low test scores at Wakefield to another thread. I know you are a caring person who is looking for ideas on how to get involved and help solve some of these issues, so i would hate for the discussion to get short shrift here, in a thread about teenagers from McLean high school creating, distributing, and viewing under-age porn.

Clearly, this thread has blossomed into a broader discussion about kids today, parenting, and the appropriate use of the Internet and technology. It would seem unfair to limit it only to the antics of the McLean students when there have been more egregious allegations involving students from other schools, including West Springfield and Marshall.
