You should read your posts before hitting submit. Yes, parents need to provide support for 5-10 year olds. Though, it sound like my seven yeah old is better at problem solving than you. He has significant developmental disabilities, yet was perfectly capable of getting appropriately dressed and navigating sidewalks and intersections with snow. |
Bowser called in the National Guard to help clear sidewalks. Crickets from Wes Moore… |
"Called in" is doing a lot of work here. I don't think they've actually hit the streets yet. |
Hasnt the NG been there for months? |

Capital Weather Gang says this is not going to melt anytime soon. The little bit of melting that happens will refreeze overnight and make things worse. As bad as it is out there I think we need to get used to it and open schools.

| Took another trip around our Rockville neighborhood. Roads are not cleared wide enough for the school bus even around some turns. Schools will be closed all week |
Are they going to close schools all month? |
It’s as slippery as ice. Where do you live? |
|
I would love to see some of these “walk over it, it’s not slippery” people try to walk 1/2 a mile with a 20lb backpack on. Or with two kids and a dog. Or across East West Highway, or a service road along University, or even down Tuckerman. And not in your fancy boots and warm coat. In like a $35 Amazon shell with worn out New Balances.
Have some empathy, you jerks! |
How long of a school closure do you think we need? Will conditions be better by then? |
+100 |
Posters are delusional. CO got their mid winter vacation. They don't need to find excuses for more closures. |
Not even close. It's a rough surface. I'm in Germantown. |

You realize kids have been walking through the snow with sleds and snow tubes all week. Young kids. Yes, they can manage getting to school. |
