Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Unlikely. The county website and traffic cameras tell another story. I think you're just mad the roads aren't perfectly clear. They're not going to be, but you can still drive on them. Speed limits are supposed to be maximums, not minimums. |
You're the one who doesn't want to give them a choice. |
| MCPS does not give one single f$ck about child care workers, gmafb. They just wave their dicks around and watch people complain and then be snarky about it during their snow day parties |
The people scared of snow can take time off. Everyone with common sense can go to work and school. |
Lady, it is your responsibility to problem solve. You have one school aged kid. You can hire a teacher who is off or a teen who is off to babysit in your home or theirs. You can take time off or if your child has another parent they can take time off. You can set up play dates with other neighbor kids where you split up the day and childcare responsibilities among the parent group. You can give your kid a tv or an iPad and pack them a lunch and plop them at your workplace or in their room if you can wfh. You can post on your neighborhood listserv or fb group with the job need. You can call a nanny agency that provides on call coverage. This is what they mean when they say prepare. Many of us with older kids needed to cobble together coverage for a YEAR six years ago. You can do this. |
Which is what? Closing doesn't help bad drivers. They'll be bad drivers every other day, too. And they're more likely to kill themselves and others when they're driving 50+mph on a snowless day. |
| Where are you guys getting information on what percentage of your service area has been plowed from? |
You're just stating the obvious here..most of us take time off. |
"In this"? The roads look near-perfect near us. If they're unsafe near you then you shouldn't drive. It's that simple. |
+1 so many bad attempts at gaslighting lol |
Doug called it! |
Not only not give them a choice, but talk about how little they get paid and then insist that they miss another day of work. Absolutely ghoulish. |
| I love how the answer is always "plan ahead" by hiring an individual nanny to travel on the allegedly dangerous roads to watch your kids and maybe a couple of others if you can get someone to go in on the nanny with you (essentially an unlicensed daycare) as an argument against letting vetted providers watch 10 times as many kids with fewer workers (who likely live nearby) in a licensed space |
All so the overpaid central office staffers in Potomac can party it up |
