So what happens when the Federal government can’t issue Nov Food Stamps?

Anonymous
Stupid MAGA

So typically blind to those who are robbing you

Not a peep about
-the Argentina bailout
-wrecking the White House
- destroying American agriculture
- any consumer protections gone
- Trump personally demanding millions from the U.S. government
- destroying small businesses with crazy tariffs
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

But God forbid someone in the U.S. who qualifies gets food subsidies to feed their family

Wake up, Republicans. This shit ain't a good look.

You are aware that the ballroom was privately funded, right? Private funds means no taxpayer money. You cannot expect them to divert funds donated to the ballroom, and redistribute the money to random Americans.

Trump never lies! Oh, wait, actually, the only time Trump lies is when he opens his effing mouth? Originally, it was $200 million and now it's $300 million. It's likely to be $500 billion before the tackiest room in the world is opened to a Palace Ball for the cabal of billionaires enjoying their privilege and chuckling over how easy it was to screw the American people

I hope the first head on the guillotine is the ugly bloated orange repulsive face of Trump!

Maybe Trump can host them in his gilded new ballroom

Healthy food is expensive. Unhealthy, preservative-laden foods are cheaper. Plus poor people often lack access to good grocery stores, along with often suffering from stress, lack of sleep, lack of access to healthcare and many other issues that contribute to poor health which can also lead to obesity.

Basic heathy food is not expensive, nor is it elusive. Next excuse?

The only way to become obese is to consume an excess of calories, continuously, over a long period of time. Hard to buy the narrative we have so many starving people that are 50+ lbs overweight

Hoping on the bus or train to Trader Joe’s isn’t an option for someone who is already working long days and has a family to care for, so where does one turn? To their local food market or corner store. Not sure if you’ve taken a look at what the family dollar/dollar general is selling, but it’s virtually all processed, but it’s what is available close to home.

In the DC metropolitan area Trader Joe's are plentiful while family dollar/dollar general are only in farther out suburbs. Ironically the three dollar stores that I know of are all in strip malls that also have a TJ's.

EBT is not simply for Dollar General or Trader Joe’s, although the latter has a decidedly greater selection of organic foods, as well as sustainably-sourced and fair-trade foods and products.

EBT is accepted at a wider variety of retail establishments every year.

True. If your Walmart, Safeway, Giant, or Target has its own Starbucks, then:

- you can even use EBT at those Starbucks locations.

I doubt it. Even within a grocery store, EBT does not cover prepared foods. It doesn’t cover everything. And Starbucks would be separate checkout.

wow you sheltered and dumb AF

LOL

Something that's impossible and doesn't happen happened.

Now what?

Divide by zero.

The load them up with EBT to fatten them up, then pay out the yingyang for health care for diabetes and other health problems.

... and democrats complain about corporate welfare as two industries feed and finger F each other.

Food desert as a cause for people eating unhealthy is a myth. Stores will carry items people will buy. The culture around food in low income communities is that of valuing junk and processed foods over heathy foods- which is why stores in poor communities don’t stock tons of fresh and heathy items. People don’t buy it. And when these same people go to regular grocery stores (which most do), they still don’t buy items that are healthier. Food desert is a the result of supply and demand, but it isn’t a cause of unhealthy eating.

Why does RFKJ look like he’s falling asleep behind the secretary?

Basically Americans will twist themselves into pretzels to concoct every excuse to not cook, this is my take away from these 22 pages. Food deserts, aging, working long hours, not working enough, etc etc etc. Rest of the world has the same problems but don’t eat frozen meals, the problem is more cultural rather than economic.
Anonymous
Now that we have all this technology, there are probably ways to limit what EBT cards will pay for.

Instead of solutions, what I hear is a lot of people celebrating that poor, disabled and elderly Americans will have to go without food.

Your assignment for today - drive to inner city and walk to closest corner store. Buy $20 worth of healthy food.
Drive to rural area and find small market and buy $20 worth of healthy food. Report back.
