I am 60. Agree with much of what you said. But disagree on the arms. That is why older women look so matronly at these events -- they are worried about their arms and cover them. Her arms a great and I think she looks good. Not like she is 20 but good. If you think she needs to cover her arms, got help us and help you when you turn 60! We need to set different standards.

Agree with you. There is nothing wrong with her arms. I am more worried about her face. She is starting to not look like herself. I hate it when they do the things that start to make them look alien. It's so off-putting. I do not like that people are starting to find those faces to be "normal" on older women and praise them. Let people age naturally FFS.

She's beautiful, but her fight against aging is sad and ironic considering the topic of the movie for which she was nominated. In interviews she talks about accepting yourself yet she doesn't seem to be accepting her reality. It's one thing to be as healthy as you can but another to make yourself look unnatural.

Well, it’s why Demi was a genius pick for that film. I feel bad for her, really—she clearly has been through a lot and never had good self esteem. I think she’s finally getting to a place where she can be comfortable with herself but it’s clearly a work in progress. I wish she still had Bruce as a support, and I hope her daughters are kind with her.
And I agree she needs a hair cut. She looked phenomenal years ago with a blunt cut shoulder length or slightly shorter cut.

Eeek just nooo. That’s like saying a white Chevrolet SSR (Conan) looks the same as a white Tesla cyber truck (Musk) because they both have smooth front hoods.

Conan is impish, and quirky in a fun, self-depreciating and warm way.

The shadow president is a grumpy troll, and quirky in a callous, tone deaf, and arrogant way.

Apart from their vibes being so different, they don’t look alike at all.

Teenagers often seem to think everyone over the age of 50 with similar skin tones look the same.

Conan did a great job - fun, silly, empathetic in right spots …

Yes- its Conan, Elon, Barry Keoghan and Cillian Murphy. They all have this weird look to them.

Yes to Conan, Elon, and Barry Keoghan (who, for me) has the weirdest look of them all), but no to Cillian Murphy. He’s gorgeous. And he’s aging well, but naturally. He’s just a very striking looking man, which is probably why he’s the current male face of Versace. But that striking look is never going to be to everyone’s taste, and that’s okay.

Am I the only Peaky Blinders fan who enjoyed seeing Cillian and Adrien Brody on stage together? Tommy Shelby and Luca Changretta. And Annabelle Wallis (who played Grace Shelby) was also there last night - she’s Sebastian Stan’s girlfriend. Lots of Peaky Blinders connections!

Loved Cillian in Oppenheimer - can’t bear to watch a 3.5 hour movie but will get around to the Brutalist eventually. AB was so obnoxious in his acceptance monologue that I lm in no rush …

+1 I have no problem with women keeping long hair as they get older but her hair is longer than anyone’s should be.

She left him in 2017 when all of the accusations started. The divorce wasn’t finalized until 2021, but she didn’t stand by him and isn’t responsible for his crimes.

He was always gross and there was zero reason for any woman to ever be with him other than to advance her career and be really rich. Even when he was at the top of his game, no one was saying "Oh, he's so hot" or "He's such a nice guy with a wonderful sense of humor." He was a power broker who looked like Jabba the Hut on his best day. And his reputation as a lech was well known (even if people didn't know the non-consensual part of it). She's not responsible for her crimes, but it's all still gross.

Sorry, you're saying that it's suspicious whenever someone marries a fat person? Or is the crime that he was both fat and successful - that's what someone's not allowed to decide they want in their life?

Obviously Weinstein is a horrible person who did unforgivable things. But you're saying before his ex-wife knew about those things she already should have rejected him?

It’s not that he was fat. It was that he had no redeeming qualities other than being a power broker. He was a disgusting person inside and out. I think we can all imagine getting blinded by the looks of a gorgeous charming man who is a creep (armie hammer) or also falling for a guy who isn’t great looking but has a really great personality (Danny devito, Patton Oswald, John Goodman). But Weinstein? I just can’t have any respect for any woman that married him.

I thought she was very beautiful about eight yrs ago when she had the long ponytail, was full-on tanned and wore those thigh high boots which became her signature style.

She is still pretty - just not as she used to be.

Yeah as he was going on about how much better it was to go to a theater I was thinking, no, it really, really isn’t. It sounded like begging at that point. It sucks for theaters, but make it a better experience and people will reconsider. But right now, it loses big time compared to my big screen TV, my own food that is free and a bathroom break anytime I want without having to miss anything.

If Hollywood was serious about people going to theaters, they’d give more support to movies like Dune 2, where the theater experience is totally different from the in home experience. But they didn’t even nominate Denis Villeneuve for director, when he is the reason the theatrical experience of that movie is so spectacular.

It's her veneers - they are too big for her mouth/face.

It’s not just that. The entire lower half of her face-lips, chin, cheeks, in addition to teeth—have all changed significantly since she was younger. It’s like the whole lower half of her face has been taken apart and re-made.

And the cycle just repeats as movie houses back movies they know “will sell” sex/nudity. I disagree that stories about sex workers are about THE human condition or even the female condition. They are stories about a subset of people. If they are the only stories honored, is overall disservice to women and reinforces to be in entertainment as a female, greatest odds your roles will be a stripper, sex worker, rape victim or cadaver who was a stripper, sex worker or rape victim.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph won best supporting for The Holdovers last year for her beautiful portrayal of an ordinary woman. I loved that movie so much and it did not rely on any sex or outrageous anything.

I LOVED The Holdovers so much and she was wonderful in it.

The Holdovers is going on our staple holiday movie list. Amazing film.

I said the same about Renee Zellweger in another thread. I don't know how they reverse the procedures that made them look different, but I like to see them look like themselves but older, as it should be.

+1 Same with Darryl Hannah. Her face looked great and like she had gotten rid of all her bad plastic surgery or fillers or something. She looked different and so much better! I do think there is some kind of reversal procedure because I think I saw that Lindsay Lohan had had that done and she looked much better.

Do you really believe that she had absolutely no idea what her husband was up to?

She designs gowns (the line us or was called Marchesa) and Weinstein used to pressure actresses to wear her gowns to events and they did! Maybe she woke up and changed but who knows. Marrying Weinstein had to be for money and influence. He was a thoroughly despicable person.
