These days it is. Back then it absolutely was not. All too often it was taken as a sign that you might not be a “good fit.” Do you not remember how clubby and patrician so many white collar jobs were? |
False equivalency, and we all know it. Nobody even knows the last time Trump said something that was both informed and true. |
I care. Trump lied about the very thing that he falsely accused Kamala Harris doing. And anyone in the media going along with this charade is not worth paying attention to. The media wants to even things up because they think a neck-in-neck horse race will sell copy but all they are doing is alienating their subscribers. |
This whole incident is just more proof that MAGAs are a bunch of silver-spoon nepo-toads who have never had a real minimum wage job punching a time card.
I worked at Disneyland at a fast food restaurant in the early 90s in high school. Did about 15 hours per week for a year. I do not know the name of a single person I worked with. And nor would any of them remember me. I have no photos of me in one of those god awful uniforms. No W2s or taxes from when I was 16. Only rich kid nepo-toads who never held a real job would be unfamiliar with this set of facts, or demand proof (that doesn't exist). If they had jobs, it was at their dad's Ford dealership or babysitting for family friends. Not real jobs where you had a mean supervisor, punched a time card, and/or got sexually harassed by older colleauges or customers. That's the tell in this whole debacle - Trump and his country club circle have never worked a day in their lives at a tough minimum wage job. |
I am the same age as Harris. I have kids who are college age or slightly older currently. There is no equating the experience in the 1980's with today where jobs, summer jobs, internships and for those who go, college employment and pathways to post college jobs are concerned. Everyone I know, me included, who went to college, had "menial" jobs during college and during summers. Maybe there were Wall street type things, I don't know, but for average college students in the 1980's, you worried about your post college job search during senior year. |
Everything Trump says is such a blatant lie that only idiots believe him. Everything Trump does is such a blatant fraud that only idiots believe him. There are a lot of idiots in the U.S. but there also are many people who know that Trump is a liar and a fraud yet support him anyway. They are sociopaths and are much more dangerous than the idiots. |
They aren't covering up Trump's mental state. It is all there for us to see. The MAGAs are simply ignoring it. |
I wonder how and why any of this matters. We know Trump is a shit person. Harris might be a shit person. So if you think she is also one, then the alternative is a shit person. Ultimately people should be voting on what either presidency means concretely rather than on the person per se. Most politicians are not wonderful human beings. |
It doesn't matter, but the right uses it to deflect and obfuscate. |
The entire McDonald's ploy is to basically to try to bring Harris down to the level of Trump among gullible undecided voters - "Well, they are both dishonest..." - even if Harris did work at McDonald's. It's negative partisanship. |
Pretty much! Notice the radio silence then doubling down on Harris when anyone mentions Trump lies! |
