Dang it, if they don't tell us which McDonald's she worked at 40 years ago, I'm going to vote for the 80 year old guy!!! Genius! |
Generally no. But my family has a business that has hired thousands going back decades, and we would have records of all employees. Early 80s is a little different. My family would have had customers going back that long ago, with each purchase generating a paper trail, and probably no existing records. |
On my bar application I listed Discovery Day Camp, Einstein’s Bagels, and Linens ‘n Things. All my jobs. |
Dude. Fetch just isn’t happening here no matter how much you try. If she lied on her bar application, that would have come out when she became AG, or Senator, or VP. You think that nobody vetted her for these positions? You think Rs didn’t go through her Bar application with a fine toothed comb and look for anything that could have made Biden look bad in 2020. Or her look. Bad when she ran for Senator from CA? Or when she was running fo AG of the largest state in the union? I he says she did the job and didn’t pay taxes, it would have been an issue. |
Harris first said she paid for college with her McDonalds job. Now the campaign has backed away from this claim. Either she made it up entirely, or she exaggerated a job she worked for just a little while. |
It does speak to her credibility. She has a tendency to make things up and shift according to the audience. This worked for her as a less prominent politician. This will not work as the most visible politician in the world. She cannot go around spinning yards and speaking in accents. It's undignified. |
You have firsthand knowledge of what Trump wears underneath his pants? I don’t, but Noel Casler, who worked with him on The Apprentice, has said for years that Trump wears diapers, and he hasn’t been sued for saying it. |
When I was in college I scrubbed pots in a restaurant kitchen, did landscaping, worked at a gas station, painted houses and stained decks to help pay for it. I don't list any of that on my resume, because it hasn't been relevant and I don't need my resume to be 5 pages long. It's truly weird that some of you leap to the immediate conclusion that Kamala Harris is "lying" about this because it's not listed on her law resume (not relevant to law) and truly weird that some of you leap to the immediate conclusion that Kamala Harris is "lying" because nobody has produced a record of it - it was all paper and there were no electronic databases or records for any of my jobs in the early 80s - which is when this would have been for Harris as well. |
I work for SSA. They can. And th W2 will show Harris worked a low wage job during those years. But, given McDs business mode and the fact he worked at a local store doing minimum wage work, and not at HQl, her employer will almost certainly be a franchise and not McDs. And so “Burger Burger, LLC” or whatever will be listed as the employer. And there may not be proof of what “Burger, Burger” did. Now, Harris would have to elaborate on what the job was on her bar application. And, lying would have been a really terrible idea. No one goes to law school for three years and studies for the bar to have an application rejected because they lied about a minimum wage Jo in their teens. Why would you lie? Given that there is a record showing that someone employed her in a minimum wage job during the relevant time period, and there is a steep penalty for lying on a bar application, it’s hard to see why she would lie. Also hard to see why people care 35-45 years later what the minimum wage job was. Or that anyone is voting for POTUS based on her PT teenage job. But yeah— SSA should have a W2. But they use legacy systems for this that haven’t been updated since the 1980s in many cases. And they will. Have a record of the name of the franchise that hired her, the years and how much she earned each quarter. But, there is probably not a record of what her job duties were— because no one cares. |
So she worked at a McDonald's near Howard? No she didn't. At the time she went there, that area was terribly crime ridden. DC was deep in the grip of the crack cocaine epidemic and it had the highest murder rate in the US. It's a very bold claim to say she worked at a McDs in that area at that time. Especially since she's from a wealthy family and she grew up in a rich area of Montreal. She wouldn't have any street sense. |
Did you do this work in a notorious neighborhood known for crackhouses and crime? Bc Kamala went to Howard in the 1980s. |
You folks on the left certainly seem triggered by all this. I wonder what happened to all your joy.
My opinion is that we need to dig deep and get to the bottom of this scandal. I feel confident that CBS News will take the lead. |

He said he’s now worked at McDonald’s 15 minutes longer than Kamala ![]() The McDonald’s thing is a lie to make her seem “middle class” when she wasn’t. |
Yea, she's a weak presidential candidate but she's still the obvious choice over Trump. Just imagine how frustrated the normal GOP people must be seeing that their party could have had a very easy victory in 2024 had they nominated a Romney or McCain. Can't fix stupid. |
