If she had worn an updo, you would have complained that she should have worn it down.

Why are you addressing other posters (and attempting mind reading) instead of sharing your own thoughts?

She doesn't seem to have brushed her hair. And her makeup is wrong but better than typical for her.

I've literally only seen the convention photos of her even after googling. Can you please post others?

This is from 2022, when Vance won the senate primary. Her makeup during her speech was better than this, at least.

She looks tired here. Not a critique, we all different when tired (puffy eyes, etc)

Lol: PP, why are YOU addressing this particular PP — who did have a point to make — instead of sharing your own thoughts?

You have your Melania Trump and Jill Biden for fashion advice.

don't get me started on Jill Biden's hair!

Anonymous wrote:White people and their exoticism of a regular American woman just happens to be of Indian descent is kind of gross, don't you think? There is nothing spectacular about her looks, she has a very plain face. She does have a nice body, I'll give her that. But all this "she's beautiful, she's so stylish, she's so glamorous". No, she's really not. She's just not white and a lot of you equate that with exotic and stunning. So ridiculous.

Jealously is not a good look.

Neither is that oatmeal travel dress with the well loved espadrilles!

You really need to move on. You’re the only person who is still clutching your pearls over that.

No bc I still think that outfit was heinous and that poster is not me.

Cut it with the jealousy. So incredibly immature. Yes I am jealous of a woman who can't seem to figure out how to dress herself while stumping for her election denier husband.

Maybe you’re not the target audience that she’s dressing to appeal to PP. DP

It’s an interesting question. How should a WOC with Ivy League degrees dress to be appealing / neutral to a MAGA crowd? I’ve no idea, but I’m guessing that it might not be the same styles that DCUM would tend to applaud.

It’s not just MAGA. I don’t like the typical MAGA look of bleached hair and heavy Botox but I also don’t think Usha looked great either.

People here are acting like if you think Usha looked bad you must want to see all women as sex dolls and that’s just not the case.

Im South Asian and completely with you…it is delulu. A quick image search will show you photos of Shay Mitchell, Zendaya, Tessa Thompson, Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling are examples with wonderfully understated makeup looks for WOC that are a far cry from “sex doll”.

Also let us not forget about someone who was also a working high profile attorney, mother of two, and Harvard-educated…Michelle Obama. She was/is a fashion icon and I think if she was able to do that, Usha can manage to toss out those heinous flats.

Michelle Obama is absolutely the best parallel to Usha Vance, including her ambivalence at politics in the beginning, and her focus on her own work until she couldn't anymore.

For sure. She doesn't look like she's wearing lipstick in this pic, but at least her hair is back off her face a little.

Not that it matters, but she looks lovely in this picture and she looked lovely and appropriate at the convention.

She’s not a model, or a singer, or an actress. It’s not reasonable to expect her to look like one even if she is going to be *OMG on TV*. She’s just a person, and those of you criticizing her appearance are really nasty people.

I said she's a very average looking person, how is that criticizing her? I think the people calling her stunning and gorgeous are the ones being extreme.

This is just a bizarre take. She looks ashy and washed out in this photo. She looked less washed out at the convention on the second and third days, but she could have done a lot better.

This looks like the same dress she wore to the last night of the RNC. No shade if so, just noting it.

I think she looks fine but she is a serious person. JD was the one who said she was beautiful twice that night. I think he knows the MAGA crowd doesn't think so.

Yes I hope a woman’s husband thinks she is beautiful and is comfortable enough to say it publicly. At least twice.

And why are you commenting on her appearance AT ALL? It doesn’t matter if she is ugly or average or gorgeous. She’s just a person, she’s not applying for world’s next supermodel. This thread is disgustingly sexist.

Oh well. What are you going to do. Just sit in angst over something you can't control?

Anyways...black patent leather heels would have looks nice with any of her dresses.

Not having the wear black patent leather heals EVER is one of my top five favorite things about feminism.
I won’t ever slag on a woman for wearing comfortable shoes. Oatmeal stretch is an unforced error but comfy shoes are always a good idea.

She didn't brush her hair? What? You're talking nutty.

NP. I think she means that Usha could have had a fresh cut and blowout before the RNC speech. I realize she didn’t have much advance notice. But if I knew I was going on camera in 3 days (she had that much time) I would have found a salon in Milwaukee. Or borrowed a hair stylist from the Trump ladies.

What do people mean when they say such things? You are going to call Melanie, Ivanka, or Kim G and ask to “borrow” their stylists? That’s a pretty weird convo.

They don't mean calling directly. RNC staff would likely "broker" these conversations between JD's staff and Melania's.

At the very least, a quick google shows me there is a drybar in Milwaukee, a mile from the venue for the convention. That would've been better than nothing. Her hair was constantly falling into her eyes during her speech, and so every few words her hand would go across her face to tuck it back.

Having the campaigns broker this kind of thing sounds like such a diva move.

Do she and Vance get security? Can she can just hop on over to the Drybar when she’s got a free hour?
