Physics C and BC calculus are a more self-selecting group so more pass it. Either way, I’m planning have my kid submit 4’s and 5’s to all schools, even Ivies. Against Sarah H’s advice.

AP Physics is one of the hardest classes to take in HS. It correlates that the exam is also challenging. It will entirely depend on the cohort of students in each school, however.

You think AP Physics 1 is more difficult than AP Physics C? How so? The test scores do not prove that it’s harder, since many more students are taking the test (160K vs 56k Mechanics/ 25K E&M). The course content is not more difficult.

No I don't think that. I still think AP Physics is one of the hardest classes available in HS. I said nothing about the EVEN HARDER AP Physics variations that exist.

Because there are schools that don't give credit for 3s.

Anyone's kid take the music theory? Curious if it's as tough as people say.

If you are doing AP to get credit, you should be focusing on DE classes. The primary role of AP classes are to show rigor. That some schools offer credit is a bonus but if that’s the goal you need DE.
