Everyone has said that except Obama |
Warren would have been great |
Don’t forget Hilary’s back room behind-closed-doors meltdown on election night —as reported by the New York Times when she reportedly seethed to her staffers as they broke the news of defeat to her— “I knew it. I knew this was going to happen to me! They were NEVER going to let me be president!” The Clintons haven’t been pulling the strings for a while now. And they’d like to be on that driver’s seat again. Perhaps they see an opportunity to gain that back by immediately publicly endorsing Kamala (before Obama has a chance to handpick the person he’d rather have) and if they promise to throw support behind her to get her elected, she’d be beholden to them. |
Youve watched too many seasons of Scandal, but it’d be kind of fun to imagine there is this kind of power brokering going on. |
That’s exactly what it is. The Obama and Clinton rivalry continues. Clintons wanted Biden to stay . Obama and Pelosi wanted Biden to go. Biden eventually leaves but not without resentment toward Obama |
It's not good enough just to be popular with Democrats. The ticket needs to be popular with independents. With never Trumpers, to steal votes from Trump and to get people who were planning on staying home or voting 3rd party |
It takes incedible selfishness/narcissism to believe you are the person to run the executive. The appeal to these families to get back into one of the most stressful positions possible is beyond me. One thing I respect about the Trumps (which is so so so so race) is solely that Melania really seems to hate the White House and barely supports her husband's crawl towards it. It's the most human part of that crazy family. |
Rare* not race ![]() |
Well this was a wild ride to read. 1 - Michelle Obama grew up very close friends with the Jackson family. 2 - Axelrod does not run the DNC. That’s actually a hilarious assertion. |
Saying this as a Never Trumper: this is a dangerous stance to take. If the argument against Trump is that he’s a threat to democracy, telling people to shut up and accept the candidate they’re given without primaries or an open convention after the presumptive nominee drops out, it very effectively weakens the Dems as the champions of democracy in this race. “Just shut up and accept the candidate you’re given.” Or we could have an actual convention and some attempt at a democratic process to select a ticket. |
It's going to be a white guy. Can't be Newsome because he's from California, too. Likely Beshear, Pritzker, Shapiro, or Buttigieg. Maybe Whitmer, but that might be too much estrogen for the electorate to handle. I'd like to see it be Duckworth, but that's probably too much melanin for the electorate to handle. |
Well, I'm not trusting Democrats to ever save Democracy, their strategy is 9 times out of 10 made to screw over a ton of voting blocks, because Obama and the Clintons need their 5 minutes of post-presidential fame every election. It's not that I need everyone to 100% agree with Kamala Harris, but moderates are very vulnerable to "bad optics" and will spend the next months discussing how disorganized the DNC is, then they'll start picking up Donald's claims that this was undemocratic and yada yada. I'd rather the adults in the room, go "You know, she is the most visible and has a chance and an endorsement from the current President of the United States. Run her." Which they are very slowly getting to. |
It’s not going to be Newsom because they can’t both be from California. |
I don't know if I can hold the tears back if they try bringing JB Pritzker in, what a shit show choice. |
?? Bill Clinton is widely considered one of the most intelligent US presidents in history. Clearly he made some not-so-bright decisions in his personal life, but the man was no dummy. |
