In addition to being a crappy lawyer, you also can’t help but crap on what other people like. |
Love this thread. Its got Disney, money, dumbo fights, and lawyers. Now we need sex!
This is hilarious! Pass the popcorn. |
OK, so its pretty obvious that you have almost a lifetime relationship with Disney World, it influences your opinion, and good for you. But I respectively submit that the DW you have gone to for most of your life has changed and not for the better. You may try to consider that you are seeing DW thru the lens of old happy memories and not what it is now. |

The fees don’t go up that much. In fact, they’re legally not allowed to increase them by more than a set amount. |
I respectfully submit you are a condescending ass. Let people like what they like without sh*tting on it. What’s the point. |
Over the last several years, Park management has become aggressive about keeping labor costs low by cutting the workers at rides (so only half the ride cars are in operation), closing the parks early when crowds are lower (so shoving more people into the remaining space), etc. Ruining the FP experience so that you have to pay to get into another line that is still pretty long, introducing more "special events" where you pay extra to stay later with a smaller crowd, eliminating group VIP tours where you could pay for a couple of people to join a tour to get automatic FPs (now leaving only the "pay for 10 VIP tour at $450-900 per hour for a minimum of 7 hours"). Surge pricing for base tickets and add-ons, etc. Making people pay for Park Hopping while limiting the time that you can park hop, etc. As DVC members who go every year, trust me that the cost benefit analysis is really changing. The pandemic accelerated it, but it started before that. |
I was just there for a business conference and I didn't see anywhere that was dirty and rundown -- I think this is total BS. Where exactly did you see that was dirty and rundown? To make such a statement, you should have plenty of specifics to reference. I've never particularly liked Disney (more especially now as my kids are teens) and while it may not be my bag, the one thing I did NOT see anywhere was dirty & rundown. I agree that it's a cash grab / money suck, and would never have gone if it weren't for work. I'd much rather bring my kids to Universal, as there's far more exciting things for them to do there. |
Universal is absolutely dirty, and most of the rides are lame. HP and a couple coasters are exceptions, but otherwise it looks like a bunch of IP threw up into an incoherent mess. |
Genie+ leads to very short lines and as a DVC member you know that. |
I agree. I’m not going back. The first trip was great with lots of nice extras like free parking. They took all the extras away while charging more. Nope.
|
Virtually all of those extras are back, including free parking. |
Aren’t fees like $2K/year? |
We didn’t have any customer service issues. And yes HP was the best part of it. |
The fees need to be compared to the cost of cash rooms at deluxe Disney resorts. For people who go to Disney a lot and want to stay at deluxe resorts, DVC is absolutely a deal. |
