Lol. Sure you take the L2. |
Exactly. For NB traffic zipping along to well-timed lights through Forest Hills, the backup is always at Nebraska first (note no streatery) then Military. It is the light cycle + people who do not know how to turn right from the right lane. |
And I guarantee you don't live in the neighborhood. |
According to DDOT's own numbers it's the most congested intersection, on the most congested stretch of one of the most heavily trafficed roads in the City. That intersection is so congested that even the neighboring side streets, like Albermarle, are now jam packed from people avoiding it. Meanwhile you clearly don't live in the area and don't even know where the intersection is. The congestion there is not solely related to the streetery but the streetery makes the intersection much worse and much less safe. The pandemic is over. Things are only going to get worse, especially if people start going back into the office on Mondays and Fridays. |
At this point, the L2 is like a 30 minute headway and totally useless for most commuters. Yes, it should be better, and advocates for bikes also support better mass transit. Sadly the pro-car lobby won out. |
The streetery has almost no impact...there is a right turn arrow that virtually all of the drivers use. The through traffic is already in the center and left lane. The streetery is in the right lane. Do the math. |
The streetery is in the southbound right lane. Why would people going north use Albemarle, which is almost a mile to the south, to avoid something that blocks a southbound lane? |
People going south is the obvious answer. Why would you think that people only go north? Albermarle/Linnean is the route around the northern part of Connecticut. |
The streetery issue is about people getting onto Connecticut going south. |
Dear idiot: all the traffic is backed up all the way to hell in the center lane because anyone who's used this road on a prior morning understands that if they don't get over now, they never will. Instead they'll be stuck in one place, contemplating the Kermit the Frog green Jersey barriers of Rosemary's in what should be the right lane of traffic. |
Dear Marylander: you are hilariously wrong. Pay attention to your surroundings. |
| Are the owners of that eyesore traffic clogging cafe on here ? Not everyone who rightfully complains about southbound traffic on CT lives in MD and some of us actually take the L2. Now it’s time to take our complaints to DDOT. |
The right turn lane is turning right, the center and left are going straight. This isn't hard. |
Why are you opining on and spreading aggressively ignorant disinformation on something that you clearly know nothing about? |
| What happened with the petitions ? The owners of Rosemary Bistro and Eddie Cano had competing petitions they were touting , with the Rosemary Bistro owner also bolstering his with some nasty commentary. We’ve stayed away from the whole block ever since this dispute broke but would love to hear from the owners as to what the status is now. Did they get a hearing. Submit their petitions? have they been notified of their status by the city ? After engaging the whole community in their dispute you’d think they’d offer up a transparent update. … |
