The Sidwell of Potomac is hilarious! 😆 That should make Bullis parents feel better. |
| Didn’t that dookie drip Seth Davis go to Bullis? That alone is disqualifying for half a century. |
Bad link |
Page not found. Sorry. Try harder next time . Here is a working link for you and Bullis is #20.

Easy answer: no, it’s not.
Look forward to seeing this thread rejuvenated again in 2027 with the same outcome. |
| Why do people feel the need to be ugly and mean on DCUM? That says everything about those people and not the wonderful kids and families who make up Bullis and the other schools mentioned on this forum. Why do we have to cut down a school? There are kids there and families who make up that community. Why do you want to hurt them? Why does where one kid goes to college over another kid a determinative factor of anything? Some of the smartest and most successful people I know went to state schools. Where one goes to school does not make the person or define success. If your kid or any kid is happy at a school, that's all that matters. Every school in this area provides a good education to those who take advantage of all that it offers. To those who need to put others down or be negative to make themselves feel better, please stop and think about the people who read these posts. |
| lol |
I agree! It’s disheartening- there is a school for every child but not every school will be a fit- doesn’t mean you should be bashing them! |

NP here, and trying to be very objective. If you want to purely judge by college outcomes, here is the college matriculation data from both schools:
Bullis: https://www.bullis.org/academics/college-counseling/college-matriculation Sidwell: https://www.sidwell.edu/academics/college-counseling/college-matriculation Are Sidwell's college outcomes better? Yes, but not by a whole lot ... maybe they are 15-20% better. But Sidwell has always been a significantly more prestigious school than Bullis, not just 15-20% more prestigious. I can totally see why many families would then be drawn to Bullis. Especially, if their child will not be in the top 50th percentile of the class at Sidwell, they are likely to get better college outcomes at Bullis. |
| How many students does Bullis HS have per grade? |
Have a 5th grader in public and thinking of privates- this was helpful. Couldn’t tell if it was meant to be snarky, lol but honestly the college outcomes was helpful |
I think it’s around 155-160. Class sizes all small. |
oh no! Our DC is considering St. Andrews over Bullis for HS. Could you please elaborate why you aren’t happy? We liked the warm environment and academics, especially that Center for Teaching Excellence. Seems they would work well students to help them thrive academically. |
| Just to avoid the self-righteous elitism that is rampant at Sidwell, I'd pick Bullis any day. |
