Stars plays MDU tomorrow. Will be tough to shut down their middies two days in a row.

That is a big move by Crush that shakes up the playoff picture a bit. MDU will need to completely destroy Stars tomorrow to keep their playoff tiebreaker options open.

The loss also probably keeps Pride out of the playoff hunt, because now there is a good chance there could be 4 teams with only 1 loss.

Did the Pride parents really think playoffs were possible?

Playoff scenarios courtesy of BOTC:

Play Off Scenarios:
A)
Coppermine beats MDU AND pride M&D Beats Heros:

1)Coppermine (8-0)
2)Crush (7-1)
3)M&D (7-1)

4) 3 Way tie with Heros, MDU, AND Pride. MDU and Heros are neck and Neck with GA so it will be a tight finish.

B)
Coppermine beats MDU and pride AND Heros beats M&D:

1)Coppermine (8-0)
2)Crush (7-1)
3)Heros (7-1)

4) 3 way tie with MDU, M&D and Pride. Because it is a 3 way tie, head to head doesn't matter so GA is the stat again and MDU should have that one unless coppermine scores a lot on them (unlikely).

C)
Coppermine Loses to MDU but Beats pride

1) Crush (7-1) gets #1 spot based on goals allowed even though they lost to coppermine
2) MDU (7-1) (currently hast the 2nd lowest GA)
3) Coppermine (7-1)
4) Winner of Heros /M&D game takes 4th spot.

D)
Coppermine beats MDU but loses to pride
Crush (7-1)
Coppermine (7-1)
Winner of Heros/M&D Game
Pride (7-1)

E) Coppermine loses to MDU and Pride

1) Crush (7-1)
2) MDU (7-1)
3) Winner Heros Green/ M&D (7-1)
4) Pride (7-1)

Doesn't Pride have to play Stars the last game of the season? Looks like Pride is getting the automatic win

Yes, and that is never a give me game. The always play each other close regardless of any discrepancy in talent. And, if Stars knows they can ruin pride's season with a win it will be even more of a slug fest

Agree; this will be a good rivalry game regardless of respective records or performance.

Hero's Green beat M&D Black today.

Tough pill for M&D, last year's champ. They will probably miss the playoffs.

And FCA only lost by 3 to Crush when the BOTC line was -11.

Tomorrow will be wet conditions for all, so it could be an interesting day if scores.

Coppermine was better than everyone today (and all season so far), beating Maryland United 11-5 and Pride 11-4, ending their regular season 8-0.

Next Level had an impressive 13-5 win over Nems.

Stars had an 11-10 win against a much improved Skywalkers team who was ranked 17th nationally heading into the weekend. Great job Stars!

Pride beat Hero's White handily, 15-4, before their loss to Coppermine in the second game of the day.

Big matchup for next weekend is Pride (5-2) vs Stars (4-3) for NOVA bragging rights. If Stars can ride their momentum to victory, Pride and Stars will both end at 5-3. If not, Pride will be crowned unofficial Nova NGLL champ. Good luck girls!

Coppermine would be a decent high school team--right now--in either VHSL 6A or ISL. Pretty impressive. Size, athleticism, team play, defense. Taking it to MD United like that says a lot.

Coppermine 28 is a great team. But if you think they would do anything except get crushed by the ISL teams at HS, the delusion is really deep. HS is a different style of game than middle school NGLL lax. The level of physicality and speed is a completely different level in HS. I'm sure all of these girls will get there in HS, but to suggest they're at that level now is absurd.

Clearly using some hyperbole to make a point, but glad you engaged so passionately to continue the discussion. I'm guessing you haven't seen the bottom half of the ISL, like Georgetown Day, Madeira, Episcopal, or St. Andrews play recently. Delusion or not, I would argue that there is no real athleticism difference, or even size deficit, in the midfield or defensive lines for Coppermine...and there is a huge lacrosse deficit for those ISL teams. Not talking about SSAS or Stone Ridge or Visi, of course. But fun debate.

That said, I bet McDonough or SPSG or one of the big Baltimore IAAM schools would love to lock down the Coppermine core for their starting line up for the 2028 class.

Stars is finishing the season strong. Should be a great game to end the season and if they both finish 5-3, that is good. I think Stars wins in a 1 goal game.

Beg to differ. Coppermine has 2 really effective midis, a very good goalie, and girls who are fast but not particularly skilled. Obviously they are the team to beat right now, but they lack depth and probably couldn't quite make up a "core." Anyway, their best player already goes to Maryvale and wouldn't be shocked if their second best ended up there as well.
