Reading the nyt article posted above. To have multiple anecdotes about corporal punishment in a eulogy? Explains a lot… these kids were messed up on so many levels.

Watch the recent documentary, which is mostly 1-on- 1interviews with the 3 adult children. They all talk about their father never coming to any of their games or events as kids — if you wanted to see dad, you went where he was going (deals & wrestling matches, etc). The adult kids don’t see any harm caused by this dynamic.

I've known lots of Russian & Eastern European mothers
and having their kids on an almost overwhelming schedule of music lessons, ballet, French & Russian lessons PLUS expecting great grades at the best schools is a thing

One 1st grader who cried to me with dark circles under her eyes, " I'm so so tired and don't think I can do this anymore " and, when I called her Mom to plead her case , this Russian Mom responded , " you know why she is crying.... she is crying because YOU ( a school employee) are making my daughter weak by babying her"

They are likely they to support their siblings and nieces/nephews, etc. and who respect. Also, they may have had a decent amount of interaction over the years - weddings, holidays, family events. I have had plenty of interaction with my child's half-siblings.

The NY Times article made me sad - it seemed really clear to me that Donald Trump organized her funeral and invited a lot of people that were his friends, business associates, and political allies (Jeanine Pirro!!) and just a handful of Ivana's true friends. Like everything, this was a performance for and about him. Very sad.

Oh please, if your good friend died, you would be at the funeral. You would not need Donald to invite you. She was not the superstar socialite people thought she was.She also didn't sound like a very loving mother. I know different culture and different time, but still. She beat her son when he didn't even break the lamp or whatever it was? Real classy. Sounded like Ivanka was her golden Children too (not just Donald's) but apprently Ivanka did not dress sexy enough for mommy. Ick!
