Cemetery Companies
“Cemetery company” means any individual, corporation, partnership, association, or other public or private entity which owns, operates, controls, or manages land or places used or dedicated for use for burial of human remains or disposition of cremated human remains, including a crematory located on dedicated cemetery property. Cemetery companies are prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities:
• Manufacture or sale of vaults, private mausoleums, monuments, markers, or bronze memorials
• Conduct of any funeral home or the business or profession of mortuary science
Exemptions
The Act relieves cemetery companies from the payment of:
• Real Property Taxes on lands dedicated to cemetery purposes;
• Income Taxes;
• Sales and Use Taxes;• Business Taxes; and
• Inheritance Taxes.
Cemetery property is exempt from sale for collection of judgments. Cemetery trust funds and trust income are exempt from tax and exempt from sale or seizure for collection of judgments against the cemetery company.

Honestly, cemeteries sound like a money launderer's dream. Sell plots of dirt to whoever will pay for it, no requirement to look at the source of the cash. No real fair market value. And then the same plots can trade hands over and over again until a body is buried in it. Lots of fees associated with maintenance and transfer of the plot.

The tax dodge is just one piece of it. I guarantee there's a money laundering angle at play here. He's going to sell plots to his biggest donors so they can be buried "next to Trump."

Really? I found it kind of surprising that as adults they seemed to have basically no loyalty to her at all; like they'd all throw her in front of a bus for 3 mil check and a kiss from daddy dearest with a promise of being will executor. I do think the only thing remotely normal was her, but that wasn't enough. Once she turned over her "finished products" (her words; 18 year olds) they latched onto Daddy and...here we are.

Her kids agreed to it and she was dead, so…

Actually, serious question - if you have no spouse but you do still have a parent who is still alive and a kid who is an adult - which of those people is your next of kin?

Next of kin is your spouse, but if no spouse, then adult child. You can designate someone other than these people, however.

I don't study them, honestly. I just remember Don Jr. getting all hot under the collar when asked about Tiffany just after the election when people were still interviewing them. He said it was hard for them because Tiffany's mother had broken up the marriage, and they were loyal to their mother. Or some such.
