2030 Girls Lacrosse

Has anyone ever worked hard enough and moved from Cap Orange to Cap Blue? It's unheard of in BLC, wasn't sure if the same sentiment applied to Capital, esp now with the merger.

Yes; it's happened almost every year over the last 5, between 9th and 10th grade seasons Capital. Think 1-3 player range.

No, it’s not frowned upon, or probably even considered. However, getting noticed in advance can create an advantage in a crowded tryout situation. If a girl really wants to make this or any team she should do everything in her power to maximize her chances. This is all common sense stuff.

My 2028 daughter REALLY wants to play lacrosse at Duke. Would it be frowned upon if she does not attend their prospect camps this summer?

I have heard, from several parents who have already been through the recruiting process, if your daughter has a team she is interested in, go to their prospect camps. Yes, they are expensive but it's a better way to get in front of coaches over a showcase (which is often even more expensive and crowded). It also gives your daughter an opportunity to see what the coaches are like and maybe even what they are looking for.

As somebody that was interested in having DD tryout for Capital for the experience, i am starting to get nervous. The capital fomo is real.

150-175 girls for a 3 hour tryout for 44 spots is no joke. So glad my DD is past all of this. First time this summer she will not need a tryout which is an amazing feeling

This assumes 44 spots are open, which is obviously not the case

Happens every year. Some move to blue and some move to orange.

Yeah but they are counting the prior players in that, so it’s correct thinking.

Are there really 150 that show up for these tryouts?

Def not. But they take 44 girls each year, period. Not saying all 44 are open. Id say typically blue roster is 90-95% already decided before tryouts. Orange a bit different, maybe 10-15% already targeted for orange.

Yes. 100%. Ask a 29 parent or 28 parent. They can confirm these #s

We will see what happens with the 29 class. With the 28 class, 3 Blue players got moved down to Orange. 1 orange player got moved up to blue. Blue took 2 new players from outside. Orange cut a few players outright.

Yes, it's madness. How does anyone get noticed? Most assume the rosters are already set by that point.

Is that the rising 8th graders year?

They probably do have it all set and know names of who they are looking for. Or you’d think.

Do any Capital Orange players get recruited for college?
