No, it’s not frowned upon, or probably even considered. However, getting noticed in advance can create an advantage in a crowded tryout situation. If a girl really wants to make this or any team she should do everything in her power to maximize her chances. This is all common sense stuff. [/quote]

I have heard, from several parents who have already been through the recruiting process, if your daughter has a team she is interested in, go to their prospect camps. Yes, they are expensive but it's a better way to get in front of coaches over a showcase (which is often even more expensive and crowded). It also gives your daughter an opportunity to see what the coaches are like and maybe even what they are looking for. [/quote]
