Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 5

If this had involved a black man and a 15 year white girl, you Kavanaugh supporters would have been calling for his head. No trial, straight to execution. Meanwhile, a white man is just "boys will be boys".

Journalist Lesley Stahl asked Trump in an interview aired on 60 Minutes Sunday night why he had mocked Ford at a rally a few days after she testified before the Senate that Brett Kavanaugh had attempted to rape her when they were teenagers.

“Do you think you treated her with respect?” Stahl asked.

“I think so, yea, I did,” the president said.

Stahl followed up: “But you seem to be saying that she lied.”

“I’m not going to get into it,” Trump said. “Because we won. It doesn’t matter. We won.”

What a pig he is. "It doesn't matter, we won" He and his supporters are cruel and craven scumbags.

He is so disgusting.

Your accusation is absolutely not true for me. As I've said before multiple times on this thread, I don't think ANYONE (man OR woman) should have their reputation ruined and lives turned upside down with uncorroborated accusations that are decades old and as full of holes as Dr. Ford's.

So your approach to this matter would have been different if the nominee had been a black conservative judge?

No, it wouldn't. And I believed Anita Hill, too.

So you would have been calling for the judge’s head? Or would you have carefully weighed the allegations and evidence?

Come off it. You would never have sat by and let this happen if it was a black man accused of attempted rape of a 15 year old white girl--stop lying! And the allegations are NOT uncorroborated. A thorough investigation of such serious allegations could not possibly have been conducted in one week. It was a sham. You'll obviously never have the decency to admit it, but it was. But hey, you won--that's all that matters to you and your Glorious Leader.

DP. Your injection of race into this discussion is bizarre.

Yes, I would have called for an actual thorough, impartial investigation--not a one week sham job which is what happened here.

Your refusal to acknowledge that this Kavanaugh debacle is white male patriarchal entitlement on display is bizarre and evasive.

No, what's interesting here is that the legal standard for putting a person in jail has no meaning here. A Senate Committee hearing is not a court of law, so whether this could be prosecuted there is not relevant.

So what you are saying is you are pissed he didn’t cave to the attacks with no evidence. How many times did people whine here “why doesn’t he just quit?” That’s worse

Can’t really say it’s “patriarchal” given Susan Collins’ speech. But go on with the projecting.

I think the hope was that he’d quit. But he didn’t. He defended himself.

You have no idea who I am, my background, or the person for whom I voted. And the only "glorious leader" (if you want to use that term) for me would be Jesus.
