Really sad-so many kids have gained weight during covid

I'm so glad you didn't suffer long term consequences or die, but, as you know, millions of other people did not have a good outcome. COVID is not just another flu.

Actually the flu is more dangerous for many people than covid.

True for kids.

Texas /Florida vs California/New York

Only think it proved is that idiots run the closed states.

The states are completely different in terms of density and demographics, so it's useless to compare. How do you explain AZ?

Arizona is doing great now and has lifted its mask mandate. What’s your point?

Yes, we know, anything that doesn’t fit your narrative is useless/not comparable/irrelevant/whatever.

Your narrative is stupid. States with the highest death rates. Notice there are very densely populated states near the top, which makes sense. But what about open red states like Missisippi, Arizona and Alabama? California is WAY down the list, below Texas AND Florida.

New Jersey: 275
Population: 8.9 million residents

New York: 255
Population: 19.4 million

Massachusetts: 249
Population: 6.9 million

Rhode Island: 247
Population: 1.1 million

Mississippi: 235
Population: 3 million

Arizona: 232
Population: 7.3 million

Connecticut: 221
Population: 3.6 million

South Dakota: 219
Population: 884,659

Louisiana: 218
Population: 4.6 million

Alabama: 215
Population: 4.9 million

North Dakota: 197
Population: 762,062

Pennsylvania: 196
Population: 12.8 million

We canceled kids’ lives AND we didn’t protect the elderly. My sister is a nurse at a nursing home. During a Covid outbreak over 30 residents were infected. Nurses who were showing symptoms and requested a Covid test were told that they would have to work now and be tested later. It is sick.

And the sanctimonious, oblivious urbanites who pat themselves on the back for saving lives while they are served by people who are less fortunate...I can’t even.

Kids are not the only ones in the school buildings. Teachers, Aide’s, admin, security, nurses, janitors, food service workers.

100% agree and the interventions haven't even worked and may be making it worse. For example, what kind of evolutionary pressure is mass mask wearing going to put on the virus? To make it insanely infectious.

They have been vaccinated by now. Spread is low in school anyway. Teachers are more likely to get infected outside of school. Kids don’t spread it to teachers. Teachers can Zoom from their rooms for staff meetings.

Spread in school is low, even without masks. The jig is up, as another poster said.

How about get a new job!? School can't re-open because 10% of the staff and teachers are fat Boomers? Give me a break. If they were at risk of covid they were at risk of flu and all the other bugs the dirty kids harbor. Maybe if you're on immune suppressant drugs because you're a cancer survivor or you have a liver transplant k-12 is not the place for you.

They can teach the remote section that will be offered to those who are also vulnerable or don’t understand risk.

Come again?

Population density CA: 253/ 149 per capita deaths
population density FL: 397/ 155 per capita deaths

Average age of Florida 42
Average age of Californian 36

Lockdowns don't work.

Let me guess...you think there's a conspiracy afoot Florida?

At the end of the day this virus just needs to run its course. Lockdown and closures are based on feels. Nothing more. Brought to you by a tiny little man who once proclaimed AIDS was airborne in the JAMA.

Instead of focusing on filthy germ magnets plastered in faces we should be focusing on exercise, diet and weight-loss. You all are so terrified because you are probably lazy fat asses.

You mean I shouldn’t add a daily donut to my diet after my vax?

Exactly. Lockdowns just extended the misery. Look at Michigan, insanely strict lockdown before covid even got started...now cases rising again for another round of misery.

Kids are bored and home all day with the time and free access to food.

But a frig and pantry full of food in the classroom at school with free reign and a lot of kids would gain weight too.

Kicking a soccer ball around doesn’t compensate for 10 snacks per day.

Georgia and Michigan have the same population density and just about the same per capita deaths rate. Georgia schools have mostly been open and no statewide mask mandate. Mask compliance is poor.

Current PCR in Georgia 5.3%
Current PCR in Michigan 8.5%

These facts are as per the CDC state profile report on the CDC website, updated March 30th.

So why is Michigan so sick despite their draconian rules?

Lockdowns are not based in any sort of facts and do more harm than good.

Absolutely. Check out the excess deaths for 20-29 year olds per CDC website. Overwhelmingly non-Covid.
