Sounds like we should ban cars everywhere in the city until we can figure out why the drivers act like such psychopaths wantonly injuring and killing people with total abandon! |
Hell yes! #bancars |
| Or, you know, come up with a better policy than slow streets. Like speed bumps. |
OMG, I think I LOVE you!!!!! I think the word “hero” is overused in today’s vernacular- but not in this case! I’d hug you if we weren’t in a pandemic! |
+1 And there are a LOT of worthy contenders for that honor. |
Oh, you mean an impatient driver broke a basic rule of driving because they were having to wait an extra thirty seconds and so hit someone. Such bad driving. |
Um, throwing any object at a moving vehicle is a felony, even cobbles. WTF is wrong with you? |
Depending on how “well” they throw the rocks it could even rise to a murder charge. There’s a lot of sick people out there. I hope the police catch them. |
it is hard to believe there are people this stupid. one of those drivers is going to pull over and beat you to a pulp. |
Yep. They are absolutely random, with no thought given to adjacent one-way streets, increased traffic on parallel streets, or how many detours a driver ends up having to make to get to their destination. I mostly ignore them and am glad they are going away. |
Do you drive a car? You know the ban would include you too |
I would be down with getting rid of all the bike lanes that no one uses. Would free up a lot of needed parking for drivers. |
+1 The K St bike lanes under Whitehurst are a joke. I live nearby and have never seen anyone using them; the bike riders are all in the road. |
|
There will likely be bike lanes on Connecticut Avenue this time 3 years from now.
I can't wait! |
Go to any street in DC with bike lanes. Stand there for ten minutes and count the number of cars you see and the number of bicyclists you see. The ratio will probably be at least 100:1. It is strange we build all these bike lanes that barely anyone even uses. It's such a waste of space. |
