Wow, this is horrible. I'm so sorry. |
I'm sorry you went through that. I was a foster care worker for many years and saw many foster/adoptive home that should have never been allowed to get kids. It is far more common than people realize and often its just handing over the kids with POA's and not even legal. Often people adopt older kids as they come with a stipend and medical care. Sometimes they are promised a baby by workers if they adopt an older kid. Our kids deserve so much more. |
Of course it was finalized in China but they had to have a home study and agency here. Most families also do a readoption in the US to make sure its not an issue with citizenship in the future. Either way, the point is, these things happen more than people realize. |
Yes, but the agency can't take custody of the child between adoption and readoption. It's not the same as the time between placement and finalization in a domestic adoption. |
I must know! |
Yes, it is definitely shady how those people were legal guardians of unrelated kids. |
It’s the “thing” to do now. Go on YouTube and see all the family vloggers with millions of subscribers. Half of them are in their 20s and make $500k+ a year by just making videos. I watch one family that’s in CA and they are mid 20s and just bought a $2million dollar house. |
A lot of moms complain when they have difficult babies.... |
I don't think "most severe grade of autism" is a medical term, to be honest, and even if it were, you would think "the most severe grade of autism" is the sort of thing that might give one pause when adopting a child if you already have multiple biological kids at home and plan to get pregnant again immediately. |
A lot of moms don’t give their kids away.... |
Actually they can and older kids are placed for adoption via private agencies, its rare but it happens. A private agency, if they have foster homes, can place a child in foster care prior to adoption. But, this was probably done in a shady way under the table without a home study or agency. If the kid is lucky, they used a lawyer but otherwise often the kids are just handed over to the new family, no home study, nothing and either a POA or something else. Or, really the kids should go into government foster care. |
He was not a baby. Most moms complain, but you don't complain on video/online where the child and your other kids and their friends and families can hear it all. Imagine what that would do to a child. This kid will go online one day and read all about this. Imagine how that will impact him after all the trauma he's had. |
+1, you'd focus on the child with the most needs vs. having another one. ASD has different levels but she clearly wasn't well educated or cared. It was easier to give up and replace the kid. |
Wonder what will happen to all of them in a few years when people stop caring. |
Just because people are doing it doesn’t make it OK. It’s gross. Such an invasion of privacy for the poor kids. |
