Weissman was very explicit in the op-Ed column about his motivations. Perhaps you should read it, there’s no mystery. He doesn’t trust Barr not to manipulate the investigate in order to create an October surprise designed to influence the presidential election, which would be a violation of DOJ policy.

Also, Barr spoke directly on the point you raised. I'm sure you disregarded what he said because you don't trust him.

I do not recall Barr’s statement on this point, but you are correct that I don’t trust him not to break the 90-day rule, particularly given that he already tried to sensationalize what is otherwise a very minor event in the Durham investigation less than 90 days before the presidential election.

Just because Brennan isn't a target, does that mean nobody did anything wrong? (Fyi, someone has already pled guilty who was associated with the investigation). So Durham's investigation is entirely political and shut down because those who have been interviewed say so?

Seriously, the Muller investigation was allowed to proceed and lots of hearings were held to go over it with a fine tooth comb. Heck, democrats are still investigating Russia by seeking grand jury materials. Let's get the same from Durham's investigation.

No one is saying Durham can’t finish his investigation, he can and we will. We are more laughing at how every development suggests the investigation will not find any scandalous wrongdoing, and yet Trump supporters somehow spin all of this nothing into proof something big is coming.

Just because Brennan's spokesperson says he is not a target, that doesn't mean he isn't a target.
Durham will not comment on statements like this. Brennan knows that. He's looking for positive media before the hammer falls.
