Those are showcase games though. Not very telling though like preseason scrimmages. |
lol what? |
| Is it true at a showcase it doesn't matter if a team wins or loses? It's just for kids to be seen? |
Showcase results don't count against DA or ECNL stats. It is for kids to be seen. FCV uses it to get ready for the spring season playing against the best teams accepted to the showcase. |
These games are also very important for Metro United parents to brag about on DCUM. |
I don't see Metro on the applied list right now. They played in the VDA showcase last year. Not even sure VDA is having a showcase again. |

ECNL showcase results count in the standings. |
So you have to pay vda to crush their teams now? Will they remember to hire refs? |
Lol |
| Arlington DA, McLean ECNL, BRYC ECNL surely top teams. Loudoun's ECNL also top team; however, now we're incorporating a bigger area so it really depends where you live. Excluding DA/ECNL I would say SYA, Herndon, SYC, and NVSC--all are highly competitive and have had some great results. Herndon and SYC have other strong teams, although that's not to say SYA and NVSC aren't successful. So long as you are playing at a club you want to, you've made the right choice. If your route is D1 soccer, there's more to it than just the club developing the player. |
Bryc has not won an ecnl game in 2 years. No fcv or vda? I think Sya and NVSC lost are least 5-0 to fcv, McLean, vda. |
If your route is D1 soccer you should be playing DA/ECNL. There are so many DA/ECNL options around here D1 coaches aren’t spending a lot of time looking outside of those venues. Most of the coaches aren’t going to know or care about strong teams from any particular club. They may get interested in someone unique, but that won’t be about club. |
| Generally speaking, of course ECNL/DA teams should be composed of great talent (VDA, STJ, etc). The name recognition alone often draws that in. Regarding results, I can't speak much truth to them since I don't watch every ECNL/DA team play every weekend. Best bet is to reach out to clubs, do some practice sessions. Also, 05s are at the U15 age group now. Players usually start identifying "Okay, this looks like my best route/development" by that age. But, there's always variables in everything. |
Not true - BRYC 05 won 3 ECNL games last year...beat Wilmington, Loudoun and Carolina Rapids. Yes, they're dead last in the ECNL conference standings, but they haven't lost ALL their ECNL games in the past two years. |
