IDGAF. Power coaches. Hahahaha. What a joke. |
| Power 5 is a term for the top athletic D1 conferences. The 5 are the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, PAC-12 and SEC conferences. |
K FCV dad, whatever you say. |
I’m pretty sure that’s just know it all dad. I don’t think he’s FCV but he does think he knows everything. |
| Pretty sure he is FCV |
|
Well even if the poster is a know it all and an FCV dad (nothing to be proud of) that is the definition of Power 5, as opposed to mid-major. Just a way to further delineate D1.
Anyhow, seems this thread has strayed from top 05 girls teams in DC metro area? No Baltimore or Richmond teams. After some early season returns it appears to be: FCV, Bethesda, McLean and Arlington (tied), VDA and MU (tied), Loudoun, BRYC. |
Even the power 5 coaches should know better than to bend or break the new NCAA rules on communication. There will be a flurry of activity for rising juniors in HS (mostly 04s, right?) this summer. |
+1000. It wasn't the term power 5 the OP was focused on. It was the stupidity of trying to recruit a 13 year old. |
Power coaches. Hahaha. What a joke. Seems like a bit of confusion here. |
This was the original post: Recruiting a 13 or 14 year old is a fool's errand. Let's see how Ms Superstar looks when she's 17. Then the follow up missed the 5 in the response: Power 5 coaches, what a joke. As in they are above the rules. |
| NVSC 05 is back in the state cup final. They are certainly a team to watch in NOVA! |
| NVSC is a solid squad but not in the same league as the top ECNL or DA teams. MD State cup is more competitive. |
MU 2005 is a good team. However, they would be much better if they could stick to keeping significant playing time to their 2005 players. It doesn't matter that a 2007 CAN play at that level. There are more than enough capable 2005 players on that team to play a full game without having a younger child play a single minute. While playing the younger player there might help HER development, that comes at the expense of the rest of the team, as well as the individual players who are losing playing time to that player. |

Winter showcases are a chance to play ECNL vs DA. This list could get verified or blown to bits really easily if all clubs have the chops.
VDA had a showcase last year. FCV is in the Penn Fusion showcase. McLean? Who knows. |
Arlington is doing CASL. |
