You are naive. At a certain age your child is going to watch stuff you don’t agree with. |
I like the way you approached the college cost etc. with your kids! You sound financially responsible! |
OP, don't worry: my daughter is 11.5 and she still only gets online for homework purposes, within my sight. You do not have to throw up your hands at any preset point and say, "Ahh, well! Kids will be kids!" |
Come back when she’s 13... then 15... then 17... |
Right, but I was only speaking to PP who said her child is younger than mine. . . |
|
I agree. This is an integrity issue. If you are willing to do this who knows what else you are willing to do. I wouldn't be in business with a liar and fraud. I loved Lori and still do but these are the consequences and she knew it when she did it. |
I'm the PP who asked--my kid is only in 2nd grade, and gets almost no screen time unless we're traveling, or it's family movie night. Oh, and occasionally a Netflix cartoon on the weekends (but typically it has to be in the language of her immersion school). Just kind of horrified to think that she would get into these "influencers" later, and that she'd have enough unproductive time that she'd want to sit around watching it regularly instead of HW, reading a book, or extracurriculars. |
Ah, you’re going to be one of those helicopter parents who pushes their kids to be stressed & over scheduled so they’ll avoid YouTube “influencers”? Got it. |
PP here. Yes, we're a somewhat strict immigrant family, I'll own that. I'm just hoping my kid doesn't see social media personalities as shallow and spoiled as this one as #goals to look up to or emulate! |
Even with strict parents teens will find their way to social media and influencers. They become more influenced by their friends and the high school environment. They just hide it and go behind your back. |
have you read the comments? or just talking about sh!t you know nothing about |
Yup. We blocked most useless social media sites at home (not this one ![]() |
She is clueless and lacks the same common sense her parents lack. They very much failed her and are condemning her and them to more serious issues if she keeps up her inappropriate comments. Yes, it produces income but at some point, is that cost worth it? |
According to the sketch artist Lori Loughlin looked arrogant in court. Who is advising her? Apparently Huffman was much more appropriate in her presentation: embarrassed, ashamed, cowering, etc.
I just can't get over how cheap and stupid they were. When you want to pay to play, you do it the legal way and shell out multi-millions. Pretty sure they would have gotten a legal tax deduction for that too even though they would have received college entrance in exchange. At least that way not only is it legal, but you contribute to society in a decent way and may help others. |
