Feedback on Next Level Lacrosse?

But I don't think you can completely blame him. He was the only coach for that team. The PG25 team has 3 coaches, but for some reason, this team only has 1 coach. Don't believe me... check out their website and you will see that he is the only coach listed - All other teams have either 2 or 3 coaches. They did have another guy help out (college kid)... but you never knew when he would show up. Since they practiced in both PG and Bethesda, the other guy would only show in Bethesda (if he showed at all). Also, heard that Isiah is not coaching the team in the winter and is not sure if he can coach in the spring/summer, since he will be too busy playing professional lacrosse. Stay away from the PG teams. Like all B teams, this is just a way to make money.

IDA is still head coach of the Next Level Prince George's 2024 team--he is NOT leaving. Next Level just hired an assistant coach as well for this team. The Next Level Prince George's 2025 team went 6-0-1 in the fall season. So I wouldn't say it's a terrible team, at all.

Read what the previous poster wrote: He wrote about the 2024PG Team NOT 2025PG Team. 25PG team had 3 coaches during the fall and did well. The 24PG only had Isiah and the experience was terrible. Good that NL hired an assistant to help Isiah, but as the poster wrote earlier, Isiah is too busy with his full time Bayhawks team to give 100% to this team.

Based on 24PG website, they are playing 2 tournaments during the summer:

1) 6/15 - NXT Blue Hen
2) 6/22 - Brine Summer Getaway

Go to thebayhawks.com and check out their schedule.

Saturday 6/15 @New York Lizards
Saturday 6/22 @Boston Cannons

So, guess what... Isiah will NOT be around to coach these kids during their tournaments. Also, the Bayhawks will be well into their season at that point with practices and games. Do you really think that Isiah will prioritize NL over his own career?

It would be better for the kids if Isiah decided NOT to come back and coach the team in the spring/summer.

Let's see how this plays out.. but I feel bad for the kids and parents on this team.

IsAiah is a great coach and good role model--I should know because he has been coaching my kid for almost 3 years. The lack of success in the fall was due to other factors, not to his coaching.

I'm a NL parent and I agree with the IDA not coaching idea. It's not fair to the kids. Name a new head coach and let IDA pop in and out as his schedule allows and do it with all teams.

Someone mentioned it before with NL but they may have to consider some parent volunteers in PG if they can't find staff quickly.

This is not an attack on Isiah. He is a nice guy and probably a good role model...however, he is NOT the best coach for this team. He has other interests and this is not fair to the kids. He should step down and be the assistant coach - NOT head coach.

The guys from PGLC are good guys, but this partnership was doomed from the beginning.

The PG parents are not going to drive to Montgomery County and the MC parents are not going to drive to PG County. NL's B teams are pretty bad and after NL poached the best players/athletes from PGLC, the combination of the two is not very good.

It's very hard to run a club. It would have been nice to see if PGLC could stick it out for 5+ years and build a program. But the guys at PGLC are young and are starting their careers (at a real job, not lacrosse), so it's understandable that they have divided attention.

NL doesn't care because they were just concerned with getting a few kids from PG who have potential. This thing is going to sink fast.

+1

I am committed to this year BUT I will not be driving to Moco next year for what has been a bad experience so far with this combined team. I also think IDA should step back as head coach of this team.

Poached - that's funny. It's not poaching when it's the same org.

But that said, it was the PG team who came to NL and the entire thing has been done without much forethought. I agree it's going to sink fast unless they have 2 distinct orgs and 1 super travel team. That seems to be the model that works for other larger clubs.

That's the reason for the pseudo-partnership. PGLC is run by great guys, but as of right now, they have very little talent over there. They need to develop it (and if they were to stick with it, the potential could be huge). But NL was all about partnering so that they could poach/bring over a few guys with great ceilings over to help the NL teams. Call it whatever you want, but that was the MO.

There isn't enough talent in PG county (so far) to create a super team. It was all about a handful of guys coming to NL, and figuring out the rest as they went along.

On a positive note, the coaching staff on the NLPG 2025 team is really strong. You have a young coach that has played at the highest level working with a more seasoned youth coach. They managed to pull together a diverse group of talent and skill in a short amount of time. Not one PGLC player went to the A team, so there was no "poaching" at the 2025 level. You can't determine a club/team's trajectory after a couple of games in the off season. It will be interesting to see how this little team fares in the regular season. As for the Mitchells, they are working hard to build their program and they are quick to handle issues when they arise. No situation is perfect, but that is the beauty of choice...you can take your money elsewhere if you are not satisfied with your experience. For now, my money is on these guys.

+1 New 2025 blue parent here. Spring/summer time will tell but we've been happy so far. This team added a few new boys from outside the club last fall, and if anything guys moved from the A team to the PG team. I know at least one former A team boy was moved to the PG team so the "poaching" goes both ways.

LOL. It was never about poaching NL players for PGLC. It was only about getting a few PGLC kids on NL rosters. NL doesn't really care about the A kids moved to the PG team. That's because B teams are just about extra money for clubs.

You are an idiot. PP was obv joking about PGLC poaching from NL. We know what B teams are for.

You are the idiot for playing for NL.

DC Express does not survive past 2021, if that. VLC will be content to lord over Loudon, and extend westward towards Faquier. The nice-guy alternative to all those as-hat money grabbers will allow NL to kill off Madlax. Bye bye Cab. Bye bye fat crab. Bottom line, NL, Mitchell and heet will be having the last laugh...to the bank.

You think NL will supplant Madlax, VLC and BW? LOL.
