Sanders is the real feminist in this race

Exactly. OP you must be a man or a woman-hating woman. I've never met a single man in my life who was a true feminist. When push comes to shove, they will all shove women out of the way to try to stay in power.

I've been posting pretty regularly against OP's false claims. I believe her when she says she's a woman, and I believe her when she says she is a feminist. So I think it's unfair to dismiss her posts with those other labels.

But I do think she is distorting the truth quite badly. What I think is really going on is that she simply decided she really likes Bernie, and so she's prejudged every issue against Hillary. She is also stubborn, so she will insist in the face of all evidence that she's right and everything else around her is wrong. I think I've seen her doing the exact same thing on a few other threads, where she levels extreme accusations and then is unable to admit she's wrong.

Name a single man who is a real feminist. Sanders is not one.

I have also thanked some of the PPs who provided information about Clinton which was positive. None of that changes my central argument which is that her feminism is inconsistent and that some of her work has been severely damaging to poor and working class women.

I understand that Hillary supporters on this thread have decided that I am the enemy because I do criticize Hillary and I do consider Bernie to be a much better feminist. But I am not the enemy. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I would love to see a woman president and I have repeated that many times. Unfortunately, I worry about the damage Clinton might do to poor and working class women if she becomes president. That said, I will vote for her in the general election. I see no reason for anyone to bring Trump into the discussion. We are all disgusted by him and there is no reason to compare either Sanders or Clinton to Trump or Cruz in a discussion of feminism. That is just pure ugliness but we have seen a lot of ugliness from some of the Clinton supporters on this thread who are offended by any criticism of their candidate.

What has Bernie Sanders done to promote equal rights for women, other than vote with Democrats in Congress?

I have been critical of the Clintons for many years. My criticism of Hillary Clinton began as a women's studies undergrad when Bill Clinton was president. So no, this is not about Sanders though I am heartened that such an ethical candidate has come this far. I confess to being quite stubborn but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Barack Obama is, I think.

What federal job did you get with a women's studies degree? This is interesting.

Oh my goodness... Let me start with Frederick Douglas and then:
my husband
Adam Jones
Stuart Mill
John Stoltenberg (married to Andrea Dworkin! and founder of "Men Can Stop Rape!")

I could go on and on but that would take all day...

It is a bad thing in the face of facts. But apparently you share that with Bernie

Yeah, I think that's part of the problem. You start this thread as a pro-Sanders thread, but it's really just a Hillary Clinton hack-job. Fine, you've decided you hate her, and so nothing she does will ever be good enough for you. You're too biased to have a serious conversation. You've prejudged her on every issue.

Speaking of facts, you have to read this transcript of Bernie's interview with the NYDN editorial board. He spouts out facts, but when he's forced to depart from his memorized talking points it is a little terrifying:

BLUF: he has no idea how he will accomplish much of what he promises. He is very Trumpian in this.

I think the OP does this a lot.

I don't hate her. I am critical of her political career and I do view Sanders as the real feminist in the race.

Economic issues are obviously enormously important, but if I don't have the right to dictate what happens with my body, what do I have? And he just sort of waved away its importance.

That's the moment he lost me too. Especially since at the time PP was practically under siege. That's not something a feminist should've uttered. Especially one for whom "establishment" has such negative connotation

If these are tge best examples you can dream up --- you are going to need much more than a day to think of any real ones!

Great, so tell us what Bernie has actually done to make you consider him more of a feminist than Hillary. Just one thing would do.
