Sanders is the real feminist in this race

So no, this is not about Sanders though I am heartened that such an ethical candidate has come this far. I confess to being quite stubborn but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, I think that's part of the problem. You start this thread as a pro-Sanders thread, but it's really just a Hillary Clinton hack-job. Fine, you've decided you hate her, and so nothing she does will ever be good enough for you. You're too biased to have a serious conversation. You've prejudged her on every issue.

I don't hate her. I am critical of her political career and I do view Sanders as the real feminist in the race.

Great, so tell us what Bernie has actually done to make you consider him more of a feminist than Hillary. Just one thing would do.

He has voted consistently in the best interests of women and vehemently opposed Clinton policy and other policy which was severely damaging to poor and working class women and children.

He really hasn't voted consistently in the best interests of women. Gun votes. Votes to poison poor women with toxic waste. So no, not quite consistent.

Give it up. If we found 100 studies showing that welfare reform and trade deals actually help women, OP would just shift her reasoning yet again. She knows where she wants the argument to come out, and so she will do whatever it takes to draw the lines so it ends that way.

I'm happy to see though that there are other people who are just as offended by her reasoning as I am.

I'm also happy this education gave me more insight into how little Bernie has done for women, and how much Clinton has done.

This has been covered in the thread. Hillary played a very active role in getting welfare reform passed. I am not holding her responsible for her husband. I am holding her responsible for herself.

Your sole definition of feminist is welfare.

Read the thread.

I have. You keep keep banging one drum the loudest, and that is that you think welfare reform was an anti-feminist act of such magnitude that it completely undermines all the other work (voluminously cited by PPs) that Hillary has done for women. So you can perhaps understand how you come across as defining feminism solely in relation to welfare.

PP, you forgot to mention trade deals...that's another important feminist issue that Clinton got wrong, negating anything she's ever done to advocate specifically for women's rights, even while visiting some of the most anti-woman regimes in the world.

So in this protectionist world, where we don't have international trade agreements, do you understand the impact that would have on low income people? Did you study any economics? Because it's crystal clear that Bernie didn't.

You are definitely right. It's amazing how little critical thought there is. I'm starting to think that the political spectrum isn't a line from left to right or right to left anymore. It's a circle. And if you go around far enough to the Bernie left you start to run into the Trump right portion. The mindsets are similar.

I have not bent my reasoning in any way for this entire thread. I have been asked repeatedly to explain my reasoning and it is the same each time. And that has caused people to accuse me of pointing to the same things over and over again. Well, yes, those are my reasons for seeing it this way.

It's more that you ignore all the facts that counter your view.

I believe the Clinton supporters are the ones who are experiencing cognitive dissonance and ignoring facts.

Yep. OP conveniently forgets to address very thoughtful, well documented replies

I can't reply to everything but I have thanked the people who have provided links on gun control and pointed out some Clinton's more positive work for women.

Mm. No. That's not supported by this thread.
