Here are the things I am sick of:

I have a candy dish..and I bitch about it (sometimes). Mainly because folks become critical about what I have in my bowl. Either take a piece or move along, but don't turn your nose up at the candy *I* buy.

Why do you get such crappy candy? I'm sick of crappy candy.

I'm sick of the lack of candy in my life. Crappy and good.

Then might I suggest you buy your own?

Jesse Ventura and his asshole opinions and his steroid choked voice.

Wow! Wouldn't it be great if people put this much time, energy and thought into looking for things they could say something positive about? When you do, all of these other things seem rather insignificant. Life is short, i hope you can find something to enjoy about it.

People who revive old threads just to add their fake sincere (but really snarky) comment. (Yes, I'm talking to you 12:43).

I looked at the "Wish Tree" in the mall yesterday that is supposed to be a way for children of low-income families to get gifts. What did I see? A request for an iPod Nano, a request for that brand new war game that just came out, a request for a gift card to Victoria's Secret, a request for a gift card to Abercrombie and Fitch. Are kids really this entitled, or are the parents the ones filling out requests for what THEY want?

What should they be asking for? Food stamps and a bowl of gruel? Their parents don't have the money and they are probably asking for the same things their peers have. It is a wish tree after all...

I think it's awful is adults stand by and let a child post a request for an Ipod Nano (which retails at about $130) on a mall 'wish tree.' Most people might be willing to spend $30-$50 buying a gift for a low income child- I know I would. But I won't even buy my OWN kid a $13) Ipod gift! So what happens? No one picks that request off the tree and that child gets nothing on Christmas Day.

I used to ask for a pony every Christmas. My parents were kind enough to talk to me about that not being a reasonable request, rather than waiting for me to sob on Christmas morning when there wasn't a horse under the tree.

Why shouldn't they ask for what they want? If their parents can't afford it isn't that what a wish tree is for?
Or should they be satisfied with a ball? A slinky? A ragdoll? Only children from families of wealth should ask for expensive items?
FWIW, some people wold by the nano for the wish tree child. Maybe some of you would feel better about life if you did.

I think the point the OP was making was that maybe parents are using the kid's 'wish' as an excuse to ask for things that the parents want.

I am sick of people who don't like gays and people of color. I am really sick of people who don't know they are prejudice.

I hate illegals who don't recycle.

I hate those stick on stick-figure families on the back of mini-vans. Usually with a dog or cat involved. Sorry.
